Dear Artisans,

We are pleased to privately offer you the lowest price in the country, by a massive margin, on Kosta Browne's incredible Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2021.

Not much needs to be said about the majesty of Kosta Browne. Founded in 1997, Kosta Browne is one of North America’s most revered wineries, recognized for making some of the world’s finest Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. Located in Sebastopol, Sonoma County, and guided by an acclaimed team that includes renowned Winemaker Julien Howsepian, Kosta Browne makes appellation and single-vineyard wines from the most coveted cool-climate vineyards across the Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast, Anderson Valley, Sta. Rita Hills and Santa Lucia Highlands appellations. In addition to partnering with the finest growers in California, Kosta Browne has an estate program that features 170 acres of vineyards through ownership or long-term leases. Kosta Browne has earned a place on Wine Spectator’s annual list of the world’s “Top 100 Wines” seven times since 2005, including “Wine of the Year” in 2011.

Here's what Vinous Media’s founder Antonio Galloni had to say a few years ago:

"I continue to be deeply impressed by what I am seeing at Kosta Browne..Kosta Browne has confidently entered the second generation of its life."

And from the winery website, current winemaker Howsepian had this to add:

"Prior to joining Kosta Browne, Julien gained invaluable hands-on experience at several venerable California estates and in New Zealand’s acclaimed Hawkes Bay region. “As a winemaker, it is both humbling and a gift to work with such amazing vineyards,” said Julien. “Each one has a fascinating story to tell. For two decades Kosta Browne has been dedicated to telling these stories. To build on this legacy is an honor and a privilege.”

Wine Spectator gave the 2021 vintage 95 points for Sonoma Chardonnay and 96 for Pinot Noir, while Vinous Media went even higher, with 97 points, saying "The 2021 Pinot Noirs are generally potent, brooding wines with dark fruit profiles and tons of textural depth."

Only 30 bottles are available for this sale, and will be gone in a few hours. Move fast.

All my best,

—James Tran

2021 Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

96 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:

"The 2021 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is floral with perfume and ripe red berries, as well as notes of framboise, rosemary, and incense. Offering fantastic balance, with fine tannins, fresh seamless acidity, and a good purity of fruit, this is a very attractive wine now and will continue to provide prime drinking over the next 12 or more years." - Audrey Frick (Aug 2023)

94 Points - James Suckling:

"Aromas of umami, seaweed, mushroom and bark follow through to a medium body, with firm and fine velvety tannins and a flavorful finish with a salty undertone at the end. Oyster shell. Drink now." (Nov 2023)

93 Points - Robert Parker's WA:

"The 2021 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast was matured in 39% new oak for 15 months. The nose opens slowly from allspice and brown sugar to a core of red cherry and cranberry, tea leaves and lavender. The medium-bodied palate offers surprisingly concentrated fruit supported by grainy tannins and seamless freshness, and it has a long, spicy finish." - Erin Brooks (Jun 2023)

93 Points - Decanter:

"Kosta Browne's 2021 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, part of the venerable producer's Appellation Series, is sourced from eight vineyards spanning from the northern coastal rims of the appellation down to the edges of the southern portion of the zone. Mirroring its sourcing, its cellar journey is also a melange of sorts, including fermentation in stainless steel, wood, concrete, and a small portion of whole cluster, with ageing in both French and Austrian oak. The product of an accelerated harvest that was a whole month shorter than in 2020, this 2021 Pinot presents a lucid dark ruby with a violet rim. Shy on the nose at first, the 2021 gives off aromatic hints of redberry fruits laced with cedarwood spices. Still, it opens up significantly on the palate to reveal a classic, velvety-textured Pinot Noir, offering juicy pomegranate and raspberry fruits. Velvety tannins underscore notes of forest floor and conifer, and an enticing cocoa nib finish adds to the complexity." - Jonathan Cristaldi (May 2024)
