CALL UPDATES

  • Recently Martin and Hailey Santos declined their calls to serve at Luther High School. We ask that the Lord continues to bless their work at Martin Luther College and Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School.

  • A request for three Martin Luther College graduates has been submitted to our district president. We are asking for a graduate who will serve as a Spanish teacher, another graduate who will serve as a social studies teacher, and a third graduate to serve as an English teacher.  Assignment day at Martin Luther College is May 18. God willing on May 18 we have three full-time teaching positions filled. If that is not the case, we will continue with the call process.

FREE HEART SCREENING

A free heart screening event from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Saturday, May 11, at UW-La Crosse, aims to prevent sudden cardiac arrest in youth athletes. All community members ages 10-25 are invited to sign up to receive a free electrocardiogram, or EKG, at UW-La Crosse’s Mitchell Hall Fieldhouse. Up to 250 people will be screened during the event on a first-come, first-served basis. Register ahead of time to secure a spot at www.whoweplayfor.org/wisconsin-la-crosse. Walk-ins will be allowed if space is available.

The screening, hosted by UW-L's Exercise and Sport Science Department, is made possible through a $5,000 grant from Mayo Clinic Health System. Screening equipment and professional cardiologist review of the EKGs are provided by Whom We Play For.
