 Technical Food For Thought:
  • Are your furnace tubes experiencing too much creep? Sometimes the furnace tubes creep more than expected. It could be because of transient conditions during startup. Perhaps a nonlinear finite element analysis (FEA) including plasticity and creep can shed some light on the issue. This may yield a more accurate and realistic result. KnightHawk has built some of the most complex tube furnace models in the industry to nail down what your "cracker" is doing. We've been at it for 21 years and we know how to get it done.
  • Steam conditions causing performance shortfalls on your turbine? It could be not enough superheat at the inlet and the system is not in balance. A detailed CFD may shed some light on the problem. Our experts can run advanced models to determine the response and aid in finding the cause. Our rotating group has over 250 years of experience in dealing with complex problems in Rotating Equipment. We have developed complex CFD solutions to get the right answer. We are a one stop shop with CFD, FEA, Rotordynamics, Field Services, and Metallurgical and Materials.
  • What is really going on in the factory acceptance test? A detailed field study in the shop will capture the response of the system independently. KHE has performed independent testing at OEMs, many times at a higher level with greater sophistication. Our field services group can serve your needs. We have tackled some of the toughest industry problems.
  • Is the gasket failure new or been subjected to environmental conditions? The environment may affect the strength of the elastomer. Our materials group can get to the bottom of it in our lab.
