This and That:

Tidbits of Yiddish culture from throughout the world

Check out proverbs, klezmer videos, lectures, recipes, and more! This section of KlezCalifornia's website, dormant during the height of the COVID pandemic, has now been revived by Brody, KlezCalifornia's teen volunteer. Yay, Brody!

Yiddish Culture Links

Wonderful video of Olga Mieleszcsuk and great instrumentalists performing "Rivkele - Rebecca" Yiddish tango. This was Polish Jewish composer Zygmunt Białostocki's most beloved and often-recorded song.

If you are in the San Francisco Bay Area and like to sing, particularly in Yiddish, you are invited to join the Jewish Folk Chorus of San Francisco, with two ensembles, now entering its 99th year. Both sing primarily in Yiddish but include some Russian, Ladino, and Hebrew songs. For more info, call Renee, 510.533.3903.

Honor Wall

Barbara Kuperstein

In memory of my parents Joseph and Sara Kuperstein. They were the most wonderful parents anyone could have. Both of them taught me a love for Yiddish including the language and culture.
