A-PAL Offers Low-Cost Spay/Neuter

Please do your part to prevent pet overpopulation

Kitten season is here, and A-PAL already has 11 mom cats and numerous tiny kittens in care. We adore kittens, but cat overpopulation and the suffering it causes our furry friends is a challenge in our community. A-PAL took in more than 800 cats and kittens last year. This year, we hope to greatly reduce that number through our low-cost spay/neuter programs. We've set a goal to spay or neuter over 200 cats before summer. Special thanks to the Amador County Board of Supervisors, Jackson Rancheria, Acorn Hills Animal Center and Jackson Creek Veterinary Clinic for helping to make our low-cost clinics possible. Amador County residents can have cats spayed or neutered for just $40 at these clinics. Call us today to learn more.

Our Adoption Fees Have Increased

A-PAL has raised our adoption fees to keep up with the higher volume of cats in care. These cats and kittens are priceless to us, but the reality is there is still a shortfall between our rescue expenses and money generated through adoption fees. All cats adopted through A-PAL are spayed or neutered, and many undergo lifesaving medical treatment. With your support, we can keep prices reasonable, and continue finding loving homes for cats and kittens in need.

Volunteer with A-PAL

Whether you have an hour or several to give, A-PAL has many volunteer opportunities. Please stop by the PawsPartners Center at 12360 Trade Center Drive in Jackson to fill out a volunteer application and take a facility tour. If volunteering at home works best for you, we can set you up with everything you need to become a kitten foster!

A-PAL Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported solely by donations; 100 percent of donations are used for the benefit of the animals in Amador County.
