How you've helped your neighbors in need on their road to self-sufficiency.
Kindness of local business helps student see

Our education department often goes above and beyond for our students to help them to succeed in their academic pursuits. But this time, a local business did as well.

David*, a currently homeless Adult Education student has been studying to take the Accuplacer test so he can attend college. Recently he approached one of our teachers with a problem - his eyeglasses, which he relies on to see, were broken. He could no longer study for his test. The teacher told David she would try and get them fixed for him and drove off toward town.

She went to Parelli Optical of Beverly and asked if they would help fix the glasses as they belonged to a homeless student she was working with. She did not have to provide any more information. They immediately offered to help and in less than 10 minutes they had been repaired.

It's heart warming to know that there are others that care about our students' success as much as we do. Thank you all for your support and caring that enables our clients to succeed.
