New to Quilters Cupboard – Designs by Jason Yenter

It always interests me to know the background of fabric designers and here we present Jason Yenter. He grew up in the fabric business when his mother owned

a quilt shop in Seattle. He is now an amazing textile designer and President of In The Beginning Fabrics. Jason has always been an early adopter of new techniques, including digital design and printing, and is known for the stunning designs and gorgeous colors that make his collections stand out.

In the Beginning Fabrics produces high quality quilt fabrics, both cotton and batiks. His cotton fabrics feel and look different - they are lighter weight and digital prints on cotton give the look of batiks! They hold up very well to quilting, have a very tight weave and create stunning quilts.

PRISM II is full of intense colours with tone on tone shading and subtle designs. For those who love colour, this collection is for you!

On The Go Around Town

On The Go Around the Town features a panel showcasing delightful

characters on various modes of transportation. There are so many sights to be seen around the town, it will entertain adults and children for hours!

In our kit, we’ve added the stripes and the border print to add to the fun.

The On The Go Panel Kit finishes at 56" x 63" – use it as a bed cover or play mat!

We have On The Go pillowcases too.

August Demo – Friday, August 16 and Saturday, August 17

Lots of Fun, Lots of Laugh, Lots of OOHS and AAHS to the Show and Share

The fun starts at 10:30 am on both Friday and Saturday.

Classes are Coming!

Our calendar is bursting and we are so excited! Our teachers have been busy making samples and are eager to share their creative tips with you.

There are more than 20 classes on our planning calendar at present - half and full day club classes as well as half and full day single project classes. We will have full details on our website soon.

From the Editor..

I think the On The Go Around Town panel is my favourite. When I look at it all I can think of is playing I-Spy with the grand-kids. Norine and I don't actually have any grandchildren yet - but our sons each have a dog. One of them is a Miniature Australian Shepherd - a very intelligent breed but he's hopeless at I-Spy. Doesn't know a giraffe in a school bus from an elephant riding a bicycle. We've made eight of the On The Go Kits and I think they are going to sell quickly so don't delay.

Don't miss the August Demo Day - it could turn in to a full-on quilting smackdown. Tami will probably present something involving applique and Leianne will probably express her feeling that applique is the earthly manifestation of evil. This one could get feisty - or not!
