Celebrating 200 Years of Bringing Georgia Together!

We’re hosting a year-long celebration with events, historical tours, community pop up parties, official merchandise, and more throughout 2024!



Perry was founded in 1824 and named in honor of Oliver Hazard Perry, a War of 1812 hero. Perry began as an antebellum industry, including gristmills, sawmills, and cotton gins. Perry was formally incorporated in 1824 as the first municipality in Houston County.


Perry is now known as a premier community of choice and truly “Where Georgia Comes Together.”

Creekwood Splash Pad Opens May 25!

Exciting news for Splash Pad fans!


The Creekwood Park Splash Pad will open for the 2024 season on May 25!


Operating Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.


Cool off under a variety of water fountains, water cannons, and one very large bucket that splashes onto the pad when filled up with water!


Adults will enjoy watching under large umbrellas and benches situated around the pad. A large picnic area is nearby where you can enjoy your refreshments under the nearby pavilion.


The Splash Pad is located at 110 Ida Lasseter Circle in Perry.

Downtown Historic Tours


Step back in time and discover the heart of Perry's past with our Historic Downtown Perry Bus Tours, a journey through heritage and preservation during Historic Preservation Month for Perry's 200th Birthday!


Led by the Perry Area Historical Society, each hour-long bus tour offers a unique experience, giving you a deeper understanding of our City's rich history!


Tours will begin at Perry First Baptist Church at 1105 Main Street.


A ticket is required for all guests.

Perry Leisure Services Youth Fall Sports Registration is now open!


Cheer, Football, Flag Football, and Soccer registration begins May 1 and closes July 1.

Kids Fishing Rodeo

Perry Leisure Services hosted its 29th Annual Fishing Rodeo at Rozar Park on

April 20!


This event takes place every spring to encourage youth to learn more about fishing and to participate in outdoor leisure pursuits!


This year’s rodeo had over 200 people in attendance with 154 young fishing enthusiasts. Special thanks to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for bringing out the “Reel Wagon”, answering questions, and assisting in judging.

Junior Fire Academy

The Perry Fire & Emergency Services Junior Fire Academy is a 5-day camp taught by the Perry Fire Department to educate participants about the exciting career of a firefighter. Students learn about teamwork, responsibility, and leadership while participating in exciting hands-on activities in a fun atmosphere.


Application Deadline: May 3, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.


Orientation: Monday, June 3 at 6 PM at Davis Farm Fire Station 2 (150 Commodore Drive)


Academy Dates: June 10-14 from 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. each day.


Location: Davis Farm Fire Station 2 (150 Commodore Drive)


Age Group: Upcoming City of Perry 7th & 8th Graders


Activities Include:

  • Tour of the Fire Station and Apparatus
  • Fire Extinguisher Training
  • First Aid Training
  • CPR Training
  • Mock Search and Rescue Drills
  • Hose Operations
  • and MORE!


Parent/guardian is required to complete the Waiver of Liability and submit it during the Junior Fire Academy Orientation on Monday, June 3.

Perry Fire Department March 2024 Stats

The Perry Fire Department is a 2 station department that

contains a staff of firefighters providing fire protection, emergency

medical services, technical rescue operations, fire safety education,

fire cause investigation, and fire code inspections to a population of approximately

23,000 over 28.5 square miles.
