NORFOLK – Please note the following updates for Kempsville Road and Curlew Drive:
Kempsville Road
7 p.m. Friday, May 3 to 5 a.m. Monday, May 6: Full weekend closure of the northbound and southbound lanes at the I-264 underpass to install girders over the road. Detour to Newtown Road.
7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, May 6, to Saturday, May 11: Nightly full closures of the southbound and northbound lanes. Detour to Newtown Road.
Curlew Drive
Curlew Drive at the I-64 underpass is tentatively scheduled to reopen May 6 on a temporary basis. When Curlew reopens, it will need to be closed again on a date to be determined, to install a 60-inch stormwater pipe and finish relocating a water line, an operation that could take approximately two weeks. Traffic is detoured via Military Highway, I-264 and Newtown Road while Curlew Drive is closed.
