Amazing story of God's grace!
Katya Vengo is a leader of national church in Taimyr peninsula.
Her last name means Dog's Ear)).
Katya is not talkative but when it comes to telling the Gospel to reindeer herders - she is bold and preaches in Nenets language.
We set down and Katya told me her story.
She grew up in tundra together with her 8 brothers and sisters. Parents had a small deer herd of a 100 heads.
All she remembers from her childhood is drunk fights when her father would beat cruelly her mother. Katya said she would always think it was her fault. Only 2 or 3 times in her childhood her father hugged her.
In tundra in the midst of a vast snowy land Katya would look at the beautiful tundra nature and Karsk sea, and ask a question - Who created all this?
Katya moved to Dudinka to go to technical school to learn a profession of a simstress. There she met believers from our church and gave her life to the Lord but her soul was still messed up. Soon she left the church and began to drink and live with guys. After she learned she was pregnant and father of her child did not want to have anything to do with Katya and a child, she was heartbroken and filled with shame. She called believers and they took her in. Katya repented and fell in love with Jesus. A boy was born with defects -cleft lip and deformities of throat . Only prayer and support of believers helped Katya to continue in her life.
Soon doctors through the surgery fixed what they could but they warned that the boy will not be able to breath and talk normally. But God did a miracle after prayers and faith of Katya and all believers! It was a miracle that astounded doctors =- Igor can talk and breath perfectly!

When Katya prayed for me at the end of our conference - she prayed in her native Nenets language, the presence of God came down and God spoke to me - Taimyr will be transformed only by the Gospel and My power of love for these precious people! Encourage them, love them and believe in them!

What an honour to be a part of this miracle of resurrection of nations of Taimyr! thank you for your prayers and support!

Alla - Katya's mother came to all meetings and seminars. She is so beaten down by life that sometimes it seems like she is not able to understand things but she is a smart woman.
Masha is one of Katya's sisters that also lives in Dudinka and also is single mom. On fire for God ! She sews all the national clothing for herself and he boy Elisiah!

Katya rents an apartment with her son. Her salary is small and government of course does not help much. So we encourage Katya to believe God for purchasing an apartment of her own. The prices are not so high in that region and 2 room apartment (living room and one bedroom) can be bought for $15000 !
