Kappa Sigma Tau Chapter's 2017
Parents’ Weekend & Tau Trustee Reunion

November 10 & 11
Dear Kappa Sigma Parents and Tau Alumni,
First, a sincere thank you to Suzanne Grant and Marquett Brewster for devoting their time and energy as Co-Presidents for the 2016-2017 Kappa Sigma Parents’ Association! They provided an amazing year for our sons and their parents; especially considering a few challenges brought on by the building of our new Residence Hall. Parents' Weekend, Moms’ Weekend, and Dads'/Alum Weekend events were enjoyed by all and we look forward to continuing the traditions!

The Tau Chapter has recruited an incredible 2017 pledge class of 58 young men, including three from out of state – the largest Kappa Sig Tau pledge class ever! This truly shows that our boys who make up the Tau Chapter have an impressive standing and reputation on the UT campus! The Kappa Sigma Residence Hall was completed last spring and currently there are 34 actives living in our beautiful new house!

We are busy preparing for another remarkable year. Parents' Weekend is scheduled for November 10 & 11, 2017 (UT vs. Kansas game). On Friday night, all parents of current pledges and actives are invited to a cocktail party and Silent Auction at the Lodge. On Saturday, we will again gather at the Lodge, along with Tau alumni, for a pre-game luncheon that will include the introduction of the 2017 Pledge Class, awards presentations — including the Tau Man of the Year award — and more of the Silent Auction. Kick-off time for the game is scheduled for 5 P.M .

Please let me know if you are interested in volunteering for Parents' Weekend. You can sign up at the Moms’ gathering in Houston, Dallas or Austin, or contact me directly (email address below). I invite each of you to become involved in your son’s fraternity functions. It is a very short four years, so make the most of it by attending the local events, enjoying Parents’ Weekend, and participating in Moms’ and Dads’ Weekends in the spring. I look forward to meeting you all and working beside you at our events.
Best Regards,
Lisa Sarvadi (Ben PC ‘14 and George PC ’16)
