Looking to boost your prowess on updates in environmental issues, new technologies, regulatory information, and pollution prevention activities? Join us as we learn how to manage for today and prepare for tomorrow during the annual Kansas Environmental Conference, August 10-11 in Manhattan, Kansas.


Engineering technician (environmental technician) works with  PPI specialists on various projects related to industrial environmental compliance, sustainable material management, pollution prevention and a clean water needs surveys. The technician will do various project support work including helping schools with food waste audits and education, assist with a clean water needs survey, development of compliance assistance calendars and publications, data management, and some field work with other specialists. 


Instructor (pollution prevention specialist) works on various projects related to industrial environmental compliance, pollution prevention and energy efficiency. The specialist will work with interns; conduct on-site environmental compliance, solid waste reduction and pollution prevention opportunity assessments; develop and present videos, webinars and training seminars; provide individual assistance by telephone and written correspondence; research regulatory and pollution prevention issues; edit websites; and write publications.

2022 PPI Intern Symposium

This summer, PPI has 13 interns working with industry on a variety of pollution prevention, source reduction and sustainable material management projects. These interns are junior-level or higher engineering or science students from Kansas State University and other accredited universities in Kansas.

The 2022 PPI Intern Symposium will be August 4-5 in Wichita and Manhattan. Students will share their summer internship experiences and source reduction recommendations that will assist their host companies in conserving natural resources, reducing solid waste, and minimizing hazardous material use and waste. Both sessions will be available virtually via Zoom. Pre-registration is required.
