From the Desk of LWHS Principal Christine Bell

Dear Kang Families,

We reached the start of the second semester, and it is registration season. While our seniors gear up for spring celebrations and commencement, our students in grades 8-11 look to next year. The LWHS Counseling team has been busy visiting classrooms and presenting options to students. Students will request classes online starting on February 2nd. They will have until the end of the day on the 9th to submit their requests in Skyward. Course requests drive the creation of our master schedule, and our course offerings. Please take some time to connect with your student about their future plans. You can get all of the information you need on our website: https://lwhs.lwsd.org/academics/course-catalog

In addition to registering for classes, our students are working on completing their XELLO requirements. XELLO is a high school and beyond planning tool, and it is a requirement for graduation. You can find information about XELLO on our school website: https://lwhs.lwsd.org/college-and-career-center/career-exploration. Counselors and staff in our College and Career Center are always happy to help your student with this process.

Thank you for your support of our Kang Community.

Seniors

Reminder: The Senior Party Event Needs You to Pay it Forward!

The Senior Party on the night of June 14th is a safe and fun-filled post-graduation all-night party presented by the LWHS PTSA. We provide transportation to two venues (new this year!), entertainment, food and a memorable end-of-the year experience.

The planning committee is looking for these volunteers:

  • Communications Lead - Create and manage a communications plan for email, website and social media. Other volunteers will execute these communications.
  • Volunteer Recruitment - Recruit the parent volunteers for the night of the event.
  • Parent Volunteers - You can volunteer for the entire night or a portion of it. It is a great opportunity to pay it forward (as a parent of a freshman, sophomore or junior), and to find out what Senior Party is all about!

For more information or to sign up, email seniorparty@lwhsptsa.org.

Thank you!
