Message from the President by Charli Thyne

Work on getting out the vote as if your livelihood depends on it.

Because it does.

As the newly coronated leader of the Democrat Party, Kamala Harris spouts “Joy” and “Optimism." What about POLICY? While she refused to reveal specifics in her "interview" with CNN, she did say, "My values have not changed." So we interpret that to mean she:

  • Supports destroying women’s sports
  • Opposes parental rights in schools
  • Demands a wealth tax
  • Has no problem with the idea of imposing price controls
  • Is in favor of a national, government-run healthcare system
  • Wants illegal immigrants to have access to Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid and the right to vote
  • Would nationalize drug companies and
  •  Is determined to eliminate the oil industry.

Debunking lies about Mark Robinson

It's no surprise. Democrats have been "getting away" with lying about their opponents for years. Josh Stein has been airing commercials about Mark Robinson, candidate for Governor of NC - and it's time to debunk those lies!

Read this and send the link to friends, neighbors and anyone else who will be voting this year!

And if you can, contribute to Mark's campaign so he can hit back effectively against Stein!

  • Pick up your membership directory if you haven't already done so.
  • Bring in a book of stamps to help with the "My Faith Votes" letter-writing campaign (see below)

The recipient of our monthly collection has been changed to Family Promise of Moore County. This Christian organization provides shelter and meals to families experiencing homelessness, and supports families getting reestablished. Please bring household cleaners, garbage bags, twin sheets, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.

Updates to Membership Directory

In the latest Directory, there was an inadvertent error on Page 1, Committee Chair section. The current Program Chair is Deborah Daly. Please mark the correction in your edition.

Also, Pauline Bruno's phone number has been changed in the Directory to (860) 917-8001. Please make a note of it.

Join us on Sept. 5 to address letters in "My Faith Votes" campaign

Here's something tangible you can do to help Get Out The Vote - and it's easy!

Send letters to Christian voters encouraging them to participate in this election. The first meeting of the envelope-writing group will be September 5 at 1:00 pm in Moore County GOP Headquarters, following the Think Tank. My Faith Votes provides us with the letter; we will be hand addressing envelopes to mail the letters. Everyone is invited to help!

And bring a book of stamps if you can.

August brunch collection was a hit!

Many thanks to all who donated snacks for the special lounge at Sandhills devoted to veterans and military personnel who are students there. The goodies were much appreciated!

Ways & Means update

At our August brunch, we raised the following funds to help with MRW's election efforts:

  • Split the Pot - $75. Tom Beddow took home $37.50.

  • Basket Raffle - $290. Kathy Beddow was the big winner.

  • Jewelry Sales - $281.

Many thanks to all for chipping in to fill our coffers!

Adopt-a-Road cleanup on September 9

We need you! The more volunteers we have cleaning up the trash along Airport Road near Whispering Pines, the quicker the work and the more pleasant the experience!

Please meet at 12:00 noon on September 9 at the Harris Teeter in Whispering Pines - the parking lot nearest the gas station. Bring your grabber and gloves; trash bags and vests will be provided.

Highlights of August brunch

Michele Morrow, candidate for NC Superintendent of Public Schools

Michele was "on fire" with her passion for educating (not indoctrinating) our children in public schools.

She is in a very tough race against Mo Green, who is well known and well funded. MRW donated $2,000 to her campaign at the brunch. If you'd like to help, go here.

Todd Manness, Moore County Clerk of Court, discussed all the exciting amenities at the new Courthouse.

Addul Ali, long-time friend of MRW, is now a candidate for Congress from the 12th district. Learn more here.

Bill Britton, Moore County Register of Deeds, who talked about the improvements made in his office to benefit residents.

Annette Miller, volunteer coordinator for the Moore County GOP, is looking for volunteers to help ensure election integrity! See article below.

Your election help is needed!

You can make a difference to ensuring this election is fair, and that people are encouraged to vote Republican!

We are looking for MRW members to commit 8 volunteer hours for the upcoming early voting or Election Day shifts. These shifts (two separate 4-hour shifts) would be as Poll Observers (inside the polling place) or Poll Greeters (outside the polling place under the tent).

There are two early voting locations:

Aberdeen Lake Recreation Center

301 Lake Park Crossing, Aberdeen, NC 28325

Carthage Agricultural Center

707 Pinehurst Avenue, Carthage, NC 28327

Election Day commitments occur at your home precinct and should be coordinated with your precinct chair.

Sign up sheets are available at GOP HQ in the Olmsted Village Shopping Center, or by emailing annettem25@sbcglobal.net for a digital version. Sign up with a friend!
