With only two months to go until the start of the 12th Annual TransRockies Run we're pleased to announce the addition of three more lucky runners to the field. Thanks to our friends at
goodr and
Kahtoola, who sponsored two great contests, the folks below will have the opportunity to traverse the Rockies and become part of the TRR family. Read on for all the details!
Kahtoola Race for the Rockies:
This year marked year four of the annual Kahtoola Race for the Rockies team sponsorship giveaway, and it was by far the most successful. With an incredible 737 total nominations for 198 teams (up from 182 nominations for 50 teams in 2017) picking a winner
was a daunting task.
But
after narrowing the field to six finalists, Jessica Carroll and Blake Burket were selected as this year's winners! They both work bonkers hours at the Pentagon, each with daughters, and somewhere between all the insanity find time to train and compete in ultras. In hearing their stories, Kahtoola was inspired by their commitment to family and country, but even more they exhibited an infectious team balance that is the perfect mix of offbeat, humble, and genuine. Look for them at this year's TransRockies Run. Congrats Jessica and Blake!
goodr Ultimate Runner's High Giveaway:
2018 marks the first year with goodr as a part of the TransRockies Run Family. They kicked it off the partnership with the Ultimate
Runner's High Giveaway which saw over 7000 runners enter for a chance to win an amazing prize package including entry to the 2018 TRR, 12 pairs of goodr sunglasses, shoes, clothing and more! The lucky winner? Drew Brenton from Syracuse, Indiana.
Drew, age 31, is a husband and father of three children ages 5, 4 and 2. After years of weightlifiting, in 2017 Drew joined a running group through his Church and was hooked. Since then he's completed distances from 5k to marathon and now is ready to run TRR. According to Drew,
"I'm here because I won a contest, but have no clue what I'm doing! I'm looking forward to the challenge and to meet all of you! I would like to thank GOODR, Rabbit, Ultimate Direction, GU energy, Garmin, Hoka, CEU compression, the fine folks at the TransRockies Run and God for allowing me to experience this once of a lifetime opportunity."
Good luck to Jessica, Blake, Drew and all the runners joining us from around the world!
