Candace Sanborn - Owner, Radiant Image
Candace is a personal image consultant, helping women look and feel good about their appearance by teaching them how to select clothing and makeup colors for their coloring, as well as clothing styles, lengths and accessories that flatter their body proportions and face shape. She also provides appearance and interpersonal communication coaching for face-to-face business development and customer service professionals to help them elevate their personal presence for greater success. Candace provides classes for private groups as well as through a variety of Maine Adult Education programs. She lives in Auburn with her husband and has two grown children.
Speaking Topic: Title: Look Good, Feel Good
We all look in the mirror each day and have thoughts about what we see. Too many of us are overly critical about our appearance, seeing only the flaws, particularly as we age. This creates negative voices that bring us down and decreases are self-confidence, which shows to others. To feel better, we often spend money on new clothes, makeup or weight loss programs, which usually have little lasting impact.
The issue is that most of us are going about this somewhat randomly, choosing clothes we can afford in our size, that we like the color of, and that the stores are showing in any given year. To really change your appearance and feel good about how you look - no matter your weight or age - you need to learn the formula that works for your unique coloring, body proportions and face shape, then build a closet of clothes around it.
In her presentation, Candace will share examples and techniques for: Color Selection - how to identify makeup and clothing colors that flatter your skin, hair and eye coloring, and Dressing for Illusion - the art of knowing how to wear color, clothing styles and embellishments to trick the eye into seeing something different on the body than is really there, such as the appearance of slimmer hips, a flatter stomach or just looking more slender overall. A couple volunteers will be pulled from the audience to demonstrate the techniques!
