Director Letter
Greetings Kansas SHRM! I hope you all had a wonderful summer! As school gets started back up, I hope you all find a little time to think about your own continuing education. On September 19-21, hundreds of HR professionals from across the state will meet in Wichita for our 2018 Kansas SHRM State Conference! Our conference committee, led by Conference Chairs Makala Navarro and Amber Neises, has been working so hard to provide a fantastic conference full of excellent speakers, service providers, and networking opportunities. If you are not already registered, please do so as soon as possible by visiting
http://2018.ksshrm.org/
.
I hope you will consider joining us at our networking event on Thursday evening at the conference, Happy Hour for Heroes! We have reserved the beautiful Scottish Rite Theater in downtown Wichita and will be stuffing backpacks for the families of our local servicemen and servicewomen stationed at McConnell Air Force Base. Following the backpack stuffing, we will have a showing of the movie "Black Hawk Down", which depicts our keynote speaker First Sgt. Matt Eversmann. If you haven't signed up yet for the Happy Hour, please do so at
http://2018.ksshrm.org/happy-hour-for-our-heroes/
. We are also in need of items for the backpacks, so if you are willing to donate anything from the list on the website, it would be much appreciated! Please join us at this awesome event!
Finally, if you are not a member of a local Chapter, we have 12 amazing Chapters in Kansas that are doing some remarkable things! I encourage you to check them out on our website at
http://ksshrm.org/affiliate-chapters/
or at our Membership Booth in the Marketplace at our conference. Being a part of a local Chapter is so beneficial both personally and professionally, so please check one out today!
I hope to see you all in Wichita in September!

Congratulations Kansas SHRM State Council for receiving the Platinum Excel Award from SHRM for 2017!
|
Are you SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP Certified?
|
|
If so, please consider recertifying this year. Your recertification cycle will remain the same, but it allows you to get it done and out of the way so you don't have to worry about it next year. If you're a SHRM member the recertification cost is $100, for n
on-SHRM members the cost is $150.
Added to that - SHRM has renewed their recertification incentive program for 2018! This program provides monetary support to both the recertifying member's SHRM Chapter and State Council.
If you have any questions about certification or recertification please feel welcome to contact:
