A sculpture is only as good as it's paint job!  In this intense 2-Day workshop taught by Face Off Champ J. Anthony Kosar and the Kosart Effects Team, you will learn how to properly use an airbrush for hyper-realistic painting on masks, prosthetics and make-up FX, creature suits, busts, and model kits.  Beginning with airbrush fundamentals, you will learn the airbrush inside and out.  Working on an original GRUNT latex half-mask sculpted by J. Anthony Kosar himself, you will learn professional techniques used by FX masters in the industry of matching hyper-realistic skin tone.  You will also learn to make the skin look translucent, paint horns, teeth, and most importantly, realistic eyes.  This workshop will consist of demonstrations and HANDS-ON learning with an airbrush.  All materials included, including a professional Kosart PHANTOM Pro airbrush for you to keep!  Be prepared to take notes.

In this course taught by Face Off Champ J. Anthony Kosar and the Kosart Effects Team, you will learn the professional process on how to design and create Make-up FX for film, theater, haunted attractions, media, and fun.  Beginning with theatrical make-up fundamentals, you will learn how to design character and age make-ups, as well as injury and wound simulation make-ups.  Next you will learn various 2D make-up application techniques and basic "out of the kit" 3D construction make-ups used by FX masters in the industry. Students will then create a 3D character make-up using all the techniques learned in the class.  Finally, students will learn about building your Make-up FX portfolio. This course will consist of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on learning.  All materials included, including a personalized Make-Up FX Kit for you to keep!  Be prepared to take notes. 

Create, wear, and display your own mask this Halloween!  In this course taught by Face Off Champ J. Anthony Kosar and the Kosart Effects Team, you will learn the professional process on how to design, create, and finish your own latex half-mask, beginning with character/creature concept design fundamentals. Next you will learn sculpting techniques used by FX masters in the industry, how to properly mold your sculpture in stone, and how to cast your mask in rubber latex.  Finally, you will learn various professional approaches to painting and finishing your mask for display, portfolio, and for wear.  This course will consist of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on learning.  All materials included, including a sculpting tool set for you to keep!  Be prepared to take notes.  

Take the next step in learning the art of professional Make-up FX in this advanced class taught by Face Off Champion and Award-Winning Artist J. Anthony Kosar and the Kosart Effects team!  In this intense follow-up course to the original ART OF MAKE-UP FX and an extension of the ART OF MASK MAKING, you will learn the professional process on how to design, create, and apply your own foam-latex prosthetic.  Utilizing the skills and techniques taught in both the ART OF MAKE-UP FX and the ART OF MASK MAKING, you will now learn new advanced sculpting techniques to sculpt your prosthetic over a provided life-cast.  Next you will learn advanced, more specific mold-making techniques to properly mold your prosthetic sculpture in stone, and how to properly mix, cast, and cook your prosthetic in foam-latex.  Then, you will learn how to pre-paint your prosthetic, and properly apply the prosthetic to yourself, followed by safe removal techniques.  This course will consist of lectures, demonstrations, and HANDS-ON learning.  NOTE: Both the Art of Make-Up FX and the Art of Mask Making course will be required for enrollment in the Advanced Make-Up FX course.  Students will not be creating a life-cast of their face in this course, but will be using a generic one instead (select face size when enrolling).  All materials included, including an advanced sculpting tool set, a life-cast, and an advanced prosthetic make-up kit for you to keep!  Be prepared to take notes, and be sure to bring your sculpting set you received from ART OF MASK MAKING and your make-up kit received from the ART OF MAKE-UP FX on the first day of the ADVANCED MAKE-UP FX class.
