JJHS Players Selected

for All-State Ensembles

Several John Jay High School students were invited to join the area's All-State ensembles, a prestigious honor awarded to the top honors music students from across the region.

"I am so proud of our JJHS musicians for being invited into the prestigious Area All-State ensembles, " said Elissa Leventhal, conductor of the John Jay middle and high school orchestras. "These groups are very competitive and only accept the highest NYSSMA scores from music students across the county."

"Sophie, Will, Fenton, and Alex have represented our school beautifully at rehearsals by putting their best foot forward and coming prepared," Ms. Leventhal continued. " We are eagerly looking forward to their concert on Saturday, November 4th at New Rochelle HS!”

These four students are also members of John Jay High School’s chapter of TriM, a national music honors society.

Congratulations!

This comedy tells the fictional story of the real-life artist Jean-Francois Millet. A struggling artist in 19th century France, Twain's tale imagines Millet faked his own death to increase the value of his paintings. Then, he disguises himself as his sister in an attempt to control his artwork after his "death."

There are 14 cast members and countless crew members participating in the 2023 fall drama.

KLSD ArtsAlive will be selling our popular

It will be directed by JJHS Seniors

Samantha Donnelly, Maddy Galgano,

Jack Pryor & Alec Schwartz.

Auditions will take place in mid-November.
