'We, the Voters' series tackles the topic of reproductive rights
The next topical focus of NPR's series, We, the Voters, takes on reproductive rights in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court's Dobbs decision, which sent the issue of abortion back to the states. Trust in news project wraps up
KGOU recently completed a joint project with Oklahoma Watch to visit four Oklahoma communities to discuss trust in journalism and community concerns. KGOU general manager Dick Pryor and Oklahoma Watch executive director Ted Streuli conducted the discussion sessions, entitled "Trust Me – I'm a Journalist," in Chickasha, Woodward, Durant, and Ponca City. The project was supported by the Oklahoma Media Center's Ecosystem Engagement Fund, in association with the Local Media Association and Trusting News. We're reviewing what was learned in the discussions, and will use the information in providing future local news coverage.

KGOU sends off our student broadcasters
It's that time again, the end of the academic year, when we say farewell to some of the students who have worked with us for months, and sometimes years. Peyton Ferguson, Spencer Plato, and Julia Roberts (pictured, l-r) were enrolled in a Journalism practicum class this spring semester; you might have heard them voicing community calendar announcements on the air. With a longer tenure, student employees Michael Buchanan and Katie Hallum have served as midday newscasters.
You'll be hearing from Katie after graduation as she steps into a new role as Indigenous Affairs Reporter for KOSU and our public radio collaborative OPMX. We send them all off on their journeys, and hope they gained as much from their experience at KGOU as the station benefited from their help. Best wishes, everyone!
