My father, Federico Padovan, moved our family (including grandparents) to Key Biscayne in 1973. I was raised  on the Island and left briefly to earn a BFA degree at NYU. But my heart was always here so I returned to my Island Paradise home where I am raising 4th generation Key Biscayners with my husband Donnie Hall.

As a life-long resident and Realtor on Key Biscayne, I love sharing upcoming events and Interesting activities offered around our community for the residents and frequent visitors of our Island  Paradise and beyond.

We also have three very lovely contributors adding their Insights as well!

To read more about me,

"...With Prince's death I thought of a SUPERSTAR that I DID indeed have to privilege to not only meet, but also sell her a beautiful condo in Aventura.
The only problem is that, at the time, I did not know who she was..."
For some parents, the start of school means resuming carpool and monitoring homework. For others, it is a life transition as their child leaves home to attend college. Besides dealing with their own feelings about being an "empty nester," parents need to recognize that their child is experiencing his own life transition. Children may have high expectations about living away from home for the first time (without parental supervision.) But the transition for a college freshman is not always as smooth and "fun" as anticipated. They may have anxiety and are uncertain of how to handle these feelings. They are leaving the security of their home and creating a new "family" environment. Along with figuring out who their new "college family" will be, they need to study, manage their budget, clean their dorm room, deal with their roommate, and wake up and get to class on time. When they rush for a sorority or fraternity, they may experience rejection. It's alot!

What can you do to insure your children are transitioning well in their first freshman semester? Be open and let them express how they feel about their new environment without thinking they failed and disappointed you. Get a sense if their mood is more than just a minimal amount of expected anxiety. If you are not sure, suggest they see a therapist at the campus counseling center or skype with a therapist in your home town, so they can set follow up with appointments at vacation breaks. Most important, keep the communication open!

Mind Your Mindfulness
These days there are so many interpretations of the term mindfulness that searching for the right definition for us can send us into a tailspin and make us second guess our efforts. Mindfulness means different things to different people and really there is no definitive way to practice it in your life. As long as it connects you to the present moment in a way that attains that stillness within then you are being mindful. Simply put, being mindful means being present of, yes, the present moment.

The stillness within is the gem we are looking for and can be experienced in various and unique ways that fit our lifestyle. Of course, activities like meditation and yoga are some of the more popular and effective ways to increase mindfulness but they certainly are not the only ones and may not resonate with everyone. Ask yourself what kind of activities make time sit still for you. Perhaps it is prayer, gardening, journaling, walking in nature, enjoying specific exercise or observing the totality of a sunset. What truly allows you to listen to your soul and actualize the present moment? Once you know, take it a step further and commit to making your mindfulness practice a part of your routine. Before you know it, the benefits become a part of your life you can't live without and you become better at handling life's pitfalls with less stress and more centeredness.

When we genuinely connect with who we are, our authenticity shines and we become a vibrational match to better circumstances. We make the world a better place for ourselves and others. Minding your mindfulness can make your presence quite a present to you and the rest of the planet.

We are entering into the last quarter of the year and the race may be on to end it with our highest amount of revenue and success. The summer season brings moments of being present and recharging vibes but as transition into the Fall season, anxiety may set in.

The feeling of losing ground, grasping for focus and the lack of strength may impact those creating big businesses while juggling life. Here are 3 tips you can use today to help you get grounded and moving in the right direction to your goals.

1. Reconfirm: What goals have you set out to accomplish this year? Revisit your goals, reassess your vision and confirm to yourself that indeed are these are the goals you want to hammer out this year. Life and business evolves and its quite possible your dreams and goals have as well. Confirm what you want to go for in life and make the commitment to take the steps to get there.
ACTION PLAN: Write down top 3 goals you commit to tackle this final round of 2017.

2. Strategy: Now you know what you want to go for in business and life. It's time to create a plan, map and strategy to get there. What have others done to attain similar goals? What are the tasks at hand you know to be the ways to progress closer? Who can help you to achieve your goals in a more direct way?
ACTION PLAN: Write down 3 action plans you commit to take with passion that aligns with your goals.

3. Consistent: Here is the secret to going after your dreams and goals; consistency. Take the items above that you noted and make the commitment to be consistent. If you want to lose weight or get in shape, the action has to be further from one day or one week. Success is based on consistent steps in alignment with your goals.
ACTION PLAN: What do you commit to do daily, often and regularly with 100% focus and dedication?
