It is the time of year to take part in training sessions and events to work on your own Professional Development while networking with other like minded business owners and employees. We are partnering with some great organizations and individuals to offer some great sessions over the next few months! We hope to see you out at one of the sessions or events planned over the next few months!

It is member renewal time of year! We value your support and involvement and look forward to a new year with you all! Please contact me if you have not received your renewal invoice and send along any new contact or business updates you may have.

Message from Mayor Caseley
Did You Know? We now have 8 electric vehicle chargers installed and they will soon be fully operational in the Town of Kensington. Two are located at the Credit Union Centre, two in front of Town Hall, two at the Town Clock parking area and two located at the Gazebo. These EV chargers have been installed with support from the Province of Prince Edward Island. While the charging dollar rate per hour has not yet been set, you can watch for details in next month’s message. We should have more details available soon on our social media posts. I do know you will be able to use your own charge card or have a charge point card which you can preload and use as required. Watch for more details and specifics soon.
Rowan Caseley – Mayor
"Featuring over 100 artists, over 40 shows and more than 20 different stages for 14 days of unforgettable fun and creative discoveries, IllumiNATION has something for everyone. For two weeks, the province will be aglow with music, culinary, visual art, and interactive exhibits, shining a light on the diverse and thriving arts scene and cultures in Prince Edward Island and Canada. Celebrations will take place across the Island with every event open to the public and free to attend.
Festival-goers can review the full Festival lineup and site map here. "
Funding for businesses helps extend tourism season

A new funding program is available for tourism businesses to invest in ways that will help extend the tourism season on Prince Edward Island.
The Tourism – Seasonal Extension Program will provide a grant for tourism operators that meet the eligibility requirements. Funding will be given to operators who have not previously been open on a multi-season basis, or are introducing a new product that will be offered outside of their traditional peak operating season, or are expanding their business to extend their operating season.
The minimum grant is $2,500 and the maximum is $50,000.“This program aligns with the industry’s strategy of growing the tourism season into a multi-season, year-round destination for visitors. Much of Prince Edward Island’s opportunity lies in a change in mindset of what tourism on the Island has always been, to what it can be. This program encourages businesses to get creative and reimagine a new vision for tourism in our province.”
- Economic Growth, Tourism and Culture Minister Bloyce Thompson
The program will be administered through a partnership between Tourism PEI and the Community Business Development Corporations (CBDCs), including:
  • CBDC Western PEI
  • CBDC Central PEI
  • CBDC PEI East
To learn more about the program, visit: Tourism Seasonal Extension Program. Applications will be accepted beginning Monday, January 23 at 12 p.m.
The Central Coastal Tourism Partnership Roundtables
It's a great way to connect with your peers and chat about the busy summer season ahead. CCTP's end goal is to champion partnerships and empower growth and we can't do that without bringing communities together.
