Thank You for a Great Year!

At JFS, we strive to meet our mission every day with the help of our volunteers, staff, leadership and community partners who work together to make an impact in the lives of families in Middlesex County and across New Jersey.

On October 27, JFS hosted its Annual Meeting and Volunteer Appreciation event to review our accomplishments and honor our amazing volunteers. JFS volunteers donated more than 17,500 hours in 2021, and their presence is felt each week throughout the JFS services they support. The Shirley Segal Volunteer of the Year and Rose Wachtel Memorial New Volunteer of the Year awards were given to Barbara and Jerry, two of our hard-working volunteers.

Barbara delivers meals to seniors under JFS' Kosher Meals on Wheels (KMOW) program.

As the recipient of The Shirley Segal award for Volunteer of the Year, Barbara notes, "It is my pleasure to help others and to work with the many dedicated volunteers. Each of the volunteers does an excellent job and treats JFS clients with compassion and respect, they all deserve this award."

Jerry delivers meals for JFS KMOW and helps restock JFS' Kosher Food Pantries.

As the recipient of The Rose Wachtel Memorial award for New Volunteer of the Year, Jerry shared "When I retired, I knew I needed to do something to help others. To give. I enjoy volunteering because I wanted to bring something to someone that needed it."

Thank you Barbara, Jerry and all our committed volunteers for your dedication and support of JFS, helping us to make a difference locally and reach more families in need.

Trustees of the JFS Board renew their pledges to serve and guide.

Keeping Our Shelves Stocked

JFS sends huge thanks to our local Brandeis group for the generous donation of food for our Kosher Food Pantries. The food donation will go far in feeding the growing number of families who visit the pantries each day. Thank you for supporting JFS and our community!

If you know a Middlesex County resident who could benefit from the Kosher Food Pantries, share our phone number to set up an appointment (732-777-1940). Please consider setting up a food drive or making a donation to support our pantries today – we are struggling to keep up with the dramatic increase in visitors to our pantries each week. Thank you!

This Just In! New JFS On the Road Van

Thanks to the generosity of donors and a Community Development Block Grant from Middlesex County, JFS has a new van to take our Kosher Food Pantries on the road. The JFS On the Road van will boost our outreach efforts to distribute food bags at local events and set up food distribution days with our community partners.

Transportation is often a challenge for families seeking food support in our area. We are very excited to offer JFS On the Road to increase access to food and connect homebound individuals to food resources. To learn more, call 732-777-1940 or email office@jfsmiddlesex.org today (open to all residents of Middlesex County).

The expansion of JFS Kosher Food Pantries would not have been possible without your continued support. To contribute to JFS Kosher Food Pantries, donate online or contact us to arrange a food drop-off at 732-777-1940. Thank You!

JFS is once again holding our annual Holiday Toy Drive. From now until December 2, make the holiday season bright for a child by donating a toy or gift card. We are looking for unused new and unwrapped toys and gift cards for teens. Check out the flyer and gift ideas list (links below) for more details. Thank you!
