Getting Involved at BK

Dear Families,

The Faculty and Staff at Bishop Kelly are invested in each of our students finding a sense of belonging here at BK. Freshman and New Student Academy, House time, and BK's wide range of extracurricular clubs and activities all provide opportunities for our students to have positive social interactions and make new friends at the start of the school year.

Joining a club is a fantastic way for students with shared interests to come together. This involvement not only helps students make new friends but also fosters a sense of identity and purpose.

To help students learn about all of the opportunities available to them, BK hosts a Club Fair each fall. The 2024 Club Fair is happening on Tuesday, September 17th during House time. All students in every grade level will be participating in the club fair. Upperclassmen will mostly be staffing club booths, and underclassmen will be visiting the booths and learning about opportunities to get involved.

Parents can help out by talking with their BK students - especially students who are new to BK this year - about joining a club or activity. Share THIS LIST OF BK CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES with your student(s) and help them identify a few that sound interesting to them. Encourage your student to step outside of their comfort zone and try something new!

If you are concerned that your student is having trouble making friends at school, please reach out to Krystal Ellis, our Vice Principal of Student Affairs, or your student's BK Counselor.

Thank you for partnering with us to make this school year positive and successful for each BK Student!
