The beginning of May always held special meaning for me since J.T. left. It was in May 2007, just five weeks after his passing, that he gave me my first gift of the Dragonfly. Since then, I looked so forward to May in Colorado when the dragonflies returned because it meant J.T. would be close by, giving me more signs and messages! Of course, I learned quickly that he was always close by. He just used the dragonflies as a physical means to let me know.

Now that I live in Florida, we have year-round dragonflies! Besides being ten minutes from the beach, this is another reason I just love living here! There are times where it's a bit cold for them to fly around (brrrr...sixty degrees), but as soon as the sun comes out, they are back buzzing around, making me smile.

It never fails, too. When I really need that physical sign of love and support that only J.T. can give me, there goes a dragonfly buzzing by!

Your loved ones also use signs like the dragonfly to let you know they are close by. They do whatever they can do to breach the veil between the worlds and shower you with love and support. And just like J.T., they are here for the long haul.

I know from all of the sessions I have done that sometimes we don't know the difference between what a sign is and what is just a bird flying by. Meditation is the Key to Connecting!

I remember back in 2007 when I was told I had to learn to meditate to connect with J.T. I almost gave up, knowing I had such a hard time shutting up my mind long enough for me to get into a real meditation. But I kept practicing. Every day, I scheduled time to quiet my mind. It took a little bit of time, but I finally succeeded! I was able to get into that meditative space and visit with my son!

I always say, if I can do it, anyone can do it!

I'm heading to Phoenix!

Every Labor Day weekend, the wonderful organization, IANDS - International Association of Near Death Studies, has their conference in different areas of the country. This year, we are in Phoenix! And it's not just about NDEs (near death experiences). It's also about what we call STEs, or Spiritually Transformative Experiences, such as the experience I have with J.T.

Many speakers and experts gather to share their stories, information, and wisdom. In addition, there's also the Healing Room. This is where healers offer healings and readings for the IANDS attendees. Each session is only $18 for a 20-minute session!! This year, I will be in the healing room doing readings on both Friday afternoon and Saturday morning! There will also be other wonderful healers offering many different services.

On Sunday, September 1st from 2:30p - 3:30p, I will be on a panel with two other beautiful souls talking about "Whispers from the Other Side: Interpreting Messages from the Afterlife." It will be an amazing discussion!

Always a Mother

My first Mother's Day without J.T. here was so confusing. How many children did I have now? How can I be happy and celebrate with him gone? I was really trying to have it be okay for my other children who were only five and three at the time. To tell you the truth, I don't remember that day at all. It was one of many days that blurred by as I was working so very hard to figure out how to exist here without J.T.

This will be my 17th Mother's Day since J.T.'s transition, and boy, have I learned a lot since then! I learned that I will always be his mother, I will always have three children, and I am always loved and supported in ways I couldn't have imagined back then. J.T. never lets a Mother's Day go by without some kind of gift for me. And he never forgets to say, "Mom, you are the best mom ever!"

If you are a mom like me, please know your child is also with you, wishing you a Happy Mother's Day, and telling you in your heart that you are the best mom ever! Yes, it's different now, but your child, just like J.T., still wants to have a connection with you, no matter how they left, or how much time has passed.
