Archive Photo: Mail Boat at Captiva landing, 1963

The online archive hosts more than 4,000 images of Sanibel and Captiva's historic past. All images show a slice of life from Sanibel Island pre-causeway and include our own library's long history.

To start browsing the archives, visit sanlib.org/archive.

Seed development for this project is supported in part by the Roni Jo Freer Fund and the Sanibel Public Library Foundation.

Do you have old photographs of Sanibel & Captiva to add to the online archive?

The Library is looking for photographs of the islands before the causeway, during the land boom of the early 1920's, and of notable locals!

If you find anything you give us permission to add to our collection, email them to sanibelpubliclibrary@gmail.com
