Happy "Tails"

Happy endings are the best, and after waiting for three long months, Gretchen finally got hers!

19 year-old Gretchen was taken to the shelter by animal control after her owner passed away. Her owner's family promised to come get Gretchen, but they never did.

Shortly after arriving at JSCR, Gretchen was adopted by a loving family, Jen and Mark. After all she went through, and all that waiting, Gretchen now has her own family, and she couldn't be happier! Neither could we!

We say it all the time, we couldn't do this work without our donors. You are the foundation that enables us to do this work.

This foundation includes two amazing local businesses, Simply Diego's and Long Leash on Life. Both have been long-time donors and supporters of JSCR providing food (pictured below), gift cards, and grants to our senior cats.

We couldn't be more grateful to these organizations for rallying behind our mission. They are truly pillars in our community.

Thank you, Simply Diego's and Long Leash on Life!!

YOU can make a difference!

Your donations give cats like Gretchen their happily ever after. Donations of any size help JSCR provide critical veterinary care to cats in need.

Time for Fireworks

We hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July! We know this holiday can be stressful for pets and their caretakers. Here are a few quick tips to make fireworks a bit less scary:

  • Indoor Haven: Create a cozy, quiet space indoors where your pet can feel secure during fireworks displays.
  • Distractions: Provide toys or engage in activities to distract your pet from the noise outside. Playing music can help distract from the sound of fireworks.
  • Feed Early: Keep community or outdoor cats indoors if possible. Feed cats before fireworks start, so they can eat before finding safe hiding places during the noise.
