In April 2023, the Unitarian Universalist (UU) San Luis Obispo church chose Habitat for Humanity SLO County as the recipient of their monthly Community Outreach Offering. Since it's inception 13.5 years ago, this offering has raised over $200,000 for local 501(c)3 agencies. This investment of $1,482 will be allocated toward supporting our mission and kicks off our Built from the Heart Campaign which continues through June 30. The UU's donation to Habitat SLO County demonstrates a shared commitment to addressing the pressing housing challenges faced by low-income individuals and families in our community.

"We express our deepest gratitude to the Unitarian Universalists San Luis Obispo church for choosing Habitat SLO to be the recipients of their Community Outreach Offering," said Habitat SLO County CEO Nicholas Rasmussen. "Their generosity will strengthen our Home Preservation, Affordable Housing, and Neighborhood Revitalization programs, allowing us to create safe and affordable housing solutions for even more families in need. We encourage others to join the Built from the Heart Campaign and make a difference in our community."

This Father's Day, let your loved one know they are the heart of your home with a donation to Built from the Heart. Honor the one who taught you to ride a bike, built you a tree house, or baked secret-recipe cookies with you by donating to this campaign before June 30. Habitat for Humanity SLO County proudly held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of nine homes in Paso Robles Thursday June 1.

Nicholas Rasmussen, Habitat for Humanity SLO County CEO, opened the ceremony. “I am extremely grateful for the continued support to address affordable housing needs for families in our community. This project is only possible because of continued collaboration at the city, county, state and federal levels.”

Join us at the SLO Blues game July 14
