Volume 2 |  June 7 2017
  Hello cosplayers and cosplay appreciators!

Welcome back to everyone who signed up for the newsletter last month! To those of you who are joining us for the first time, welcome and I hope you enjoy!

My name is Ariana Shae and am working with Bobbi Lynn to make high quality costumes for you guys and make some fun stuff for you to see on here!

In addition to costumes, we also design and create fun clothing and outfits for everyday wear. Many of these are inspired by video games or shows, so they are perfect for showing off your interests with a subtler approach.

We would also love to feature a section in our newsletter with you! If you want to show off pictures in our costumes, please send them to us! Also, if you make any costumes yourself, we would love to see it!  Just email us the picture and state that you would like it featured in our upcoming newsletter. If it isn’t our costume, please also tell us who to give the credit for making it.

We focus on the sewing part of costumes, so any prop making you guys do to complement our costumes would be amazing to see.  Enjoy our newsletter and happy cosplaying!

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact us at: arishaecosplay@gmail.com

Also feel free to share this newsletter or forward it to your friends.

In this month's letter, we have new products, our second monthly pokemon cosplay, some upcoming events and a project for you!

Here are our new products for June
Ty Lee from Avatar: The Last Airbender
Ty Lee from Avatar: The Last Airbender is a fun loving acrobat and I love cosplaying as her. This costume includes the pants, wrist bands, and top. It is also fully functional! For those of you who plan on really getting into character, you can do all your acrobatic stunts in costume as well!

Check out more pictures on our etsy shop!

New Fairy Dresses!
Here is our yellow fairy dress, based on Tinkerbell's fairy friend, Iridessa!

And here is our pink fairy dress, based on Rosetta!

Don't forget to check out the Tinkerbell and Periwinkle dresses already in our shop for fun group costumes!

And here are patterned skirts added to our clothing line:
Black and white circle skirt! Visit the shop to see the other pattern choices!

Blue and white striped A-Line skirt! Also, feel free to request in other patterns shown on our shop listing.

And to the right, we have a plaid pleated skirt! This will also be available in other patterns.

(This is the same plaid shown in the circle skirt above. The white is a true white, not off-white as it may appear in the first picture.)

Pokemon Cosplay of the Month!
Every month we will be releasing a new Pokémon inspired cosplay. Our goal is to complete the Kanto Pokedex!
This month was Magikarp!
Doing a water pokemon with a functional bathing suit was super fun. This costume includes the one piece suit and headband with the fins and crown.

This magikarp cosplay is perfect for those who are struggling with cosplaying in the summer heat. As a Floridian, I can't wait to have such a cool and comfortable costume for a convention. I won't even have to change for hopping in the pool!

The wig is not included, but the headband is made from the same swimsuit material as the body, so feel free to go completely under the water with it if you want!

I'll have more magikarp pictures on our facebook page  here if you want to see more pictures!

I love doing the monthly pokemon cosplays and hope you enjoy seeing them!

June's Project for you!
This month we will be showing you how to make your very own Sailor Moon bow!

Step 1
Cut rectangles from fabric of your choice.  For a large front bow on Sailor Moon, cut to these measurements from red fabric:
10 inches X 7 inches(cut 2),
13 inches X 4 inches(cut 2),
 2.5 inches X 4.5 inches(cut 1).

For a large Sailor Moon back bow, cut to these measurements:
14.75 inches X 9 inches(cut 2),
5 inches X 18 inches(cut 2),
3.5 inches X 6.5 inches(cut 1).

For the back bow, because it is so large and to help keep it’s shape, also cut 1 piece 14.75 inches X 9 inches from quilt batting.  Layer this on top of the bow pieces the same size when sewing, everything else is done the same way as the front Sailor Moon bow shown in this tutorial.

Step 2
For the 2 larger rectangles, sew the 2 layers together leaving an opening in the center bottom for turning right side out.

Fold the smallest rectangle in half and sew along one edge.
Step 3
Turn everything right side out.

Use a safety pin to help turn the small piece right side out.
Step 4
On the 2 larger pieces, top stitch with red or matching thread to sew the little openings closed.
Step 5
Stack the 3 pieces as shown with the
longest piece on the bottom, smallest piece on top.
Step 6
Wrap the smallest piece around the other 2 pieces and mark the length you need to go around.

Take just the little piece to your sewing machine and sew where you marked,  you should then have a little loop.

Trim the excess fabric and turn the little loop so your sew line goes to the inside.
Step 7
Push each of the larger rectangles into the little loop starting with the 10 X 7 piece.
Step 8
Turn it over and push the longer rectangle also through the little loop.
Step 9
Turn it back over to the front and pull on each side to straighten it out.

Pull the longer pieces downward to shape the lower portion of the bow.

You are done!

Thank you for your interest in our business! I hope you enjoy our future newsletters and  products!

Even for those of you who do not plan to cosplay, I hope that Bobbi Lynn and I are able to provide you with fun projects and photos to look through.
