Hello Kathy,

It's starting to feel like summer. School's out, the weather is warming up, graduations are happening and travelers are starting to make their way to our area.

As we head into summer, remember you may be the first point of contact for our visitors, take the time to greet them and see how you might be able to help them make the best out of their visit. Please send them to the Visitors center too so we can provide them with the information and materials they need. We have coupons, maps, brochures and much more, so please use us as a resource.

We want to congratulation our graduating seniors, Class of '24! We wish the best for this class and our local kids to go out and do great things! Buellton is with you and remember it's your home, we are proud of all of you!

The Chamber had the honor to present 11 scholarships to graduating seniors this year. Through our fundraising efforts and events, we raised enough to provide 11 seniors with a $500 scholarship. We wish we could give to all, they are all so deserving, but we hope to have helped a few of them as they begin this next chapter.

June brings us to Father's Day, summer events, and much more. Please read on and discover what is coming up and plan to attend those that interest you. We live and work in a beautiful place, so let's continue to support local and make Buellton the best it can be.

Happy Father's Day and may you all have a great launch into summer.

Thank you for your continued support.

Leadership Circle

A new membership structure

We have designed 5 new levels of membership that include a variety of benefits at each level. Rather than reaching out for sponsorship every time there is an event, we have developed ways for you to participate at every level. We feel this will streamline the process, save time, and provide you with the exposure you choose.

You will receive a letter with your invoice, when your membership comes due. This will list the levels of membership you can choose from. Just let us know what level fits your business. Please feel free to reach out at any time with questions. We look forward to serving you in a more simplified way and hope you find a level that works for your business.

Dear Valued Customer:

Scams targeting utility customers continue to increase at an alarming rate. Scammers can be convincing and often target those who are most vulnerable. They also aim their scams at small business owners during busy customer service hours. However, with the right information, you can learn to detect and report these predatory scams.

Scammers often:

  • Ask for payment in unconventional ways such as pre-paid debit cards, gift cards, or third-party mobile payment applications. PG&E will not ask you to use any of these to pay a bill. Visit our Ways to Pay to learn all the authorized ways you can pay.

  • Threaten to disconnect your power because of past due bills if payment is not made immediately.

  • Ask for Social Security, credit card or PG&E account numbers, logins, and other personal information.

  • Create authentic looking 800 numbers which appear as PG&E on your phone display. if you have doubts, hang up and call PG&E at
  • 1-833-500-SCAM.

How you can protect yourself

Never purchase a prepaid card to avoid service disconnection or shutoff. Visit our Ways to Pay to learn all the authorized ways you can pay your bill.

If a person threatens immediate disconnection or shutoff of service without prior notification, you should hang up the phone, delete the email, or shut the door.

Signing up for an online account at pge.com is another safeguard. Not only can you log in to check your balance and payment history, you can also sign up for recurring payments, paperless billing and helpful alerts.

If you suspect you have been the victim of fraud or feel threatened during contact with a scammer, contact local law enforcement.

For more information about scams and how to protect yourself, visit the PG&E Scams page or the Federal Trade Commission's website.

Sincerely,

PG&E Customer Care Team

Tips for this Month

JUNE

Stormwater Tip of the Month

While enjoying the outdoors this summer, be sure to dispose of all trash, including cigarette butts, into a waste receptacle. Trash that makes its way to a storm drain or gutter flows directly to our waterways and is harmful to water bodies and the open spaces we like to visit. Visit your City’s Stormwater Management webpage (Buellton) to find a variety of Best Management Practice (BMP) guides and to learn more

about stormwater pollution prevention practices.

Water Conservation Tip of the Month

Consider adding a layer of mulch around your plants to retain moisture and reduce the amount of irrigation your plants need. County of Santa Barbara’s Water Wise website provides guidance to calculate landscape watering needs. Visit your City’s Water Conservation webpage (Buellton) or the County of Santa Barbara’s Water Wise website to learn more about water conservation measures you can implement at home.

Let's Link Up! Link our logo on your site

In the world of digital marketing, it is important to be linked to one another. As your Chamber and Visitors Bureau, we have you linked to our sites and ask you to do the same.

We ask our members to put a link to our Chamber site on your website.

If you are a tourism related business, then we'd love for you to put a link to our Discover Buellton site on your site as well.

We've provided the logos and links for you.

Thank you in advance, together we can do more and together we can draw more awareness to your business and our community.
