June is All About Tunisian Crochet!

Tunisian (also known as Afghan) Crochet makes a dense and squishy fabric with a beautiful texture. This type of crochet is distinguished by the tool you use to work it, namely a long "Afghan" hook. Another characteristic of Tunisian Crochet is that the front side of the fabric is always facing you. 

Next month we'll have a few fun opportunities for you to learn more about this crochet style, including:

Learn the Basics of Tunisian Crochet
On Saturday, June 3 from 10:00am-12:00pm, join us to learn all about the basics of Tunisian crochet! During this workshop, you'll discover how to cast on and create a foundation, the full stitch, simple stitch, purl stitch, knit stitch, honeycomb (if time allows) and the return pass and selvedge stitch. 

This workshop is $20 + materials. Materials include 50 yards of worsted weight yarn and a US 13/M (9.0 mm) Tunisian crochet hook. To register, please call (920) 906-4800.
Tunisian Bias Sampler Shawl
Those who have already mastered the basics of Tunisian crochet will want to check out our Tunisian Bias Sampler Shawl workshop on Saturday, June 17 and 24 from 10:00am-12:00pm (both Saturdays).

The design of this shawl by Stephanie Sario creates stitches on the bias resulting in great drape and an interesting look!

Those registering for the workshop must know the basic stitches of Tunisian crochet, including Tunisian Simple Stitch, Knit Stitch, Purl Stitch, Full Stitch and Honeycomb Stitch.

This workshop costs $30 + materials. Materials include downloading the Tunisian Bias Sample Shawl pattern, 400 yards worsted weight yarn and US 13/M (9.00 mm) Tunisian crochet hook. To register, please call (920) 906-4800.

Stop by During the Downtown Fond du Lac Wine Walk

Who doesn't love a good glass of wine? We're excited to be participating in this year's Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership Wine Walk!

On Friday, June 16 from 4:00-8:00pm, numerous downtown Fond du Lac businesses will become "tasting rooms" where attendees can sample various wines. What better way to enjoy a Friday evening than to stroll our lovely downtown and taste wines?

Tickets are $20 each in advance or $30 on the day of the event, which include 10 different 2-3 oz. wine samples at participating businesses. To learn more about this fun event, visit the Wine Walk Facebook Event!   

New & Exciting KAL!

We've wrapped up our Chasing Blizzard shawls and they all looked great, so we're on to the next knit along project...this cute baby cardigan!

Gingersnap by Kristen Reddig is a fun color block sweater that will look adorable on any little one. The color possibilities are truly endless for this sweater, we can't wait to see what everyone creates! If you've been intimidated to try knitting a sweater, this pattern is a wonderful way to begin.

Are you interested in being a part of KAL? The only cost is for your materials. The KAL participants meet Wednesdays 10:30am-12pm with new projects every 6-8 weeks. 
Knitting 101 - Beginning Knitting

We have classes for all skill levels, including beginning knitters! May's classes are offered on Saturday, June 3 and 10 from 8:00-9:30am .

This two session workshop is for the introductory level of knitting. You will learn the basics of knitting, including casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off. Plus, we'll help you get started on your first project!
