This is Why We Do It

The feedback below was provided by a mother who was able to give her son a birthday party to remember, thanks to Birthday Dreams. This is why, with your support, we continue to do what we do.

"I was homeless and pregnant, living in a car 5 years ago. Now, with help from many organizations we are in a house, and my partner is employed. I got my son out of foster care 3.5 years ago.”

Of being able to give her son a party, she said, " It made me feel like a normal parent/mom. Helped give me back my self-esteem....and [my son] said 'it was the best birthday I ever had.' He absolutely loved the presents. And thank you for including decorations and gifts for the children attendees. I can’t think of anything I lacked... This was such a perfect and beautiful party. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

We are now accepting donations through VENMO. The QR code will take you directly to our page.

Now, you can also now text donate. Text “birthdaydreams” to 366283.

Mark your calendars for next year’s event which will kick off in May 2024!

As a part of our ongoing partnership with Chick-fil-A of Puget Sound, Birthday Dreams benefitted from the 2-week long “Sweet Dreams” cookies & dessert point-of-sale fundraiser that ran from April 17th through May 1st at all 17 Chick-fil-A locations in the Puget Sound.

The fundraiser raised nearly $9,000 for our organization! We are so thankful to all the amazing Chick-fil-A diners who participated in this campaign and a Big thank you Chick-fil-A for being such an amazing community partner!

Kids Helping Kids | Sienna Evangelista

With senior year creeping up fast, seniors like Sienna Evangelista are being asked questions like Where do you want to go to college? and What do you want to do in the future? Sienna says she never knows how to respond because she’s never been able to pinpoint a particular path that she’s like to walk in life. She does, however, know that she wants her life to involve helping others in some way, shape, or form – which (drumroll please) brings us here, to Birthday Dreams.

Sienna said, “In today’s world, it’s easy to lose sight of the good, as it always seems like the bad is being shoved in everyone’s faces instead. I believe that despite the struggles that life throws at us, everyone deserves to have happy memories, especially during childhood. Because of this, I have found myself drawn to Birthday Dreams’ mission of filling kids’ special days with joy and excitement. Though it can sometimes be stressful incorporating volunteer work into an already busy schedule, the time and energy spent on Birthday Dreams are worth it knowing these kids are forming happy memories.”

Volunteer Spotlight | Hayley Robison

Hayley Robison began volunteering at Birthday Dreams a little over a year ago, after learning about our organization from a service activity at her church. At the time, she had a part-time job, and was looking for things of value to fill her free time. She said, “The mission of Birthday Dreams was a perfect fit. It gives me an opportunity to do things I like in a way that is helping others. I enjoy my Wednesday afternoons in the office wrapping gifts, curling ribbon, cutting out gift tags, and doing anything needed to help things run smoothly. I am glad I have the opportunity to help out.”

Awesome Cakes Delivered with Love

An eight-year-old boy got a Touchdown with this Seahawks cake in a "cake play" made by Molly Boyd. He also received Legos sets, a fidget spinner, arts and crafts, and sports balls, including a football, of course. Delivery driver, Jim Waugh, gets credit for the assist.

An eight-year-old girl was the recipient of this tie-dye cake created by Cherie Katana. The birthday girl also received a Pop It! pencil case, a metallic slime kit, a stuffed unicorn, a unicorn bracelet-making kit, clothes, and a sketching set donated by Kimberly Menig. The special delivery was made by, the one and only, Jim Waugh.

A two-year-old princess received this royal cake designed by Jenna Pickell. The toddler also received a Vtech Baby Musical Rhymes Book, sensory learning kit, See Kai Run shoes, CoComelon musical yellow school bus, Bubbles Wand and Bubbles, and a Big Building Bag. One of our newer drivers, Daniel Brewis, made the delivery.
