June Beekeeping Tips

In the Hive
June and July are months of maximum population in the colony. The population will vary and if big enough will continue to rear drones. Swarm season is starting.

You should be inspecting your colony at least once a month and evaluate brood pattern confirming the presence of the queen and/or eggs. Watch also for colony growth, and monitor for pests and diseases.

Provide super if the brood chambers are full and the population/stores are growing.

Pests, parasites and disease
Monitor Varroa mite levels and treat where needed. We have treatment at Let It Bee Inc.
