Get Involved! Reston Committees Seek Volunteers
Several of RA’s committees are currently looking for new volunteer members. This is an excellent way to truly get involved in the actions and policies that guide the Reston Association.
A volunteer is being sought for a three-year term on the Election Committee. The Election Committee is responsible for overseeing the administration of the election, reviewing and certifying all candidate statements and petitions, conducting election orientations and candidate forums, administering rules and making determinations related to candidate campaigning, and annually reviewing and making amendments to the form and content of the election ballots and materials. The committee also considers requests for rulings, reviews and tests election ballots, and announces the results of the election.
Additionally, volunteer positions are open for a three-year term on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. This committee advises the Reston Association Board of Directors on the sound management and development of facilities and amenities for Association Members. This committee is envisioned to be composed of representatives from a broad cross-section of recreation user groups, including but not limited to football, baseball, basketball, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, swimming, running, and triathlons.
