Babies & Children—Babies and children can be signed up in person at the library.
Teens—Teens (ages 11 to 18 or entering 6th-12th grade) can sign up for the Teen Read Club in person at the library or at the link:

The Book-a-Librarian service is an opportunity for patrons with Rockwall County Library cards (in good standing) to receive individual, focused assistance from a professional librarian in a scheduled 30-minute appointment. Assistance with computer skills, reading suggestions, downloading e-books and e-audiobooks, and resume building are just a few examples of how we can help. Please fill out the form completely, and a librarian will contact you to schedule an appointment. Appointments are limited to two sessions per month per person. | |
Note: We are unable to offer advice (e.g, medical, legal, tax or business) beyond sources of information. We cannot assist with financial transactions, type or proofread your documents, troubleshoot or assist with maintenance of personal electronics (e.g, computers, eReaders, tablets). Summer Storytimes will start on Monday, June 10th. There will be no Storytimes on Tuesday, June 11th. | |
All skill levels are encouraged to stop by every Tuesday morning at 11 AM for knitting, crochet, and conversation. Basic supplies and instructions can be provided by our regular group members to any beginners. Join us upstairs in the Women’s League Conference Room. | |
On Wednesday, June 5th, a Master Gardener will be available from 10 AM-12 PM at the Rockwall County Master Gardener table on the first floor next to the stairs to answer all things gardening! No registration required. Due to the Juneteenth holiday the Rockwall County Library will be closed Wednesday, June 19th and there will not be a second June date for Ask a Master Gardener. | |
Our morning knitting and crochet group is one of our most popular programs, so we're bringing you a special evening summer series...our Night Owl Knitters program!
Led by Carmen, our master-level crochet artist, Night Owl Knitters is for anyone who loves knitting, crochet, and conversation. The program will take place upstairs in the Women's League Conference Room on Thursdays from 6-7:30 PM. All levels welcome and starting supplies can be provided.

Come meet with the Rockwall County Genealogical Society on Thursday, June 6th from 6-8 PM to learn how to start your own genealogy research. General meetings held the first Thursday of every month or reach out to Denise Slosar at 214-799-6017 to schedule a meeting. | |
Starting June 10th, join us every Monday at 2 PM in the Large Meeting Room for full-length movies for children and their adults. Bring your blankets, pillows and snacks for a movie picnic in the library (no lawn chairs please!) | |
Join us Tuesday, June 11th at 11:30 AM to learn about the iconic Japanese art and create a black-and-white painting with basic Sumi-e strokes! This program is strictly for ages 8-11. Registration is required, register in person at the Youth Services Desk. | |
Join us on Tuesday, June 11th at 1:30 PM for a special teen program with presenter, Sari! We'll learn about Asian culinary culture and create a personalized herbal tea blend! This program is for ages 11-18. Registration is required, register in person at the Youth Services Desk. | |
Join us Tuesday, June 11th from 3-4 PM to learn about the philosophy and basic structure of Japanese flower arrangement art. Create a small Ikebana piece with wild plants in season and take it home. Bring the whole family for stories, songs, and laughter—for an immersive Spanish Storytime series—on Tuesdays, June 11th, June 18th, and June 25th. On Thursday, June 20th Dallas Animal Adventures joins us with animal ambassadors visiting us from the Dallas Zoo! Two identical performances will be held at 11:30 AM & 12:45 PM in the Large Meeting Room. Recommended for school-age children. | |
Join us on June 20th at 4:30 PM in the Large Meeting Room as we step back in time to explore the lives of knights, princesses, and common folk. Costumes are welcome, but we will make our own tunics, helmets, and shields! Strictly ages 7 and up. | |

Don’t you just love hearing about what others are reading? Us too! Come join us for our monthly evening book club called What Are You Reading Now? We’ll meet each third Thursday of the month from 6-7 PM.
Whether its literary fiction, fantasy, crime fiction, history, chick lit, a current bestseller or whatever, please dish about what you're reading right now and tell how you like it. Our next meeting will be Thursday, June 20th upstairs in the Women’s League Conference Room. Ages 18+.

While state and local municipalities work to keep up with ever increasing water needs, residents can assist in water conservation efforts and benefit from lower consumption while helping ensure a healthy landscape. This class on Saturday, June 22nd from 10:30-12:30 PM will discuss some of the causes of drought and overconsumption as well as ways to ensure the efficient use of water even during times of watering restrictions. Homeowners will be able to implement these practices to eliminate water waste and provide sufficient water to their landscape while lowering the water bill. | |
What a glorious feeling! Join us on Monday, June 24th for a movie matinee of the beloved 1952 classic Singin' in the Rain. A silent film star falls for a talented chorus girl just as he and his jealous screen partner are trying to make the transition to talking pictures in 1920s Hollywood. Popcorn and retro candy will be provided! All ages welcome! Singin' in the Rain is rated G, movie runtime is 103 minutes. | |

Join us Thursday, June 27th from 6-7:30 PM as we welcome, Laura Chaney, Rockwall County Master Gardener, who will discuss how to grow the top five culinary herbs and their uses in your kitchen. Laura has received extensive training on herbs and their uses. This will be a great class and will leave you wanting to learn more.
