From the Clubhouse
It was a really busy May--thanks again for everyone's patience with the court scarcity during our District high school league hosting and our OSAA rain site hosting. We appreciate the sacrifice of a few days of court time so the kids can finish their high school seasons, and it generates extra revenue for the club, too.
We've got some fun events coming up for everyone this summer, too!
On July 13, we'll host our annual TTC Cookout/BBQ! This is a great social event for all of our club members. TTC provides the main courses and drinks (lemonade, beer, water), and we have our pros running an hour of on-court games for the first hour for those who want to work up a sweat! Be sure to visit the link above to RSVP and save your spot--families are welcome.
On August 15-18, we'll again be hosting the tennis portion of the Oregon Senior Games. This is a great 50 & over event that features singles, doubles, and mixed against players from all over the state, and can qualify you for the national Senior Games! Sign up and let's see if you can be a state champion!
Also, our adult players NEED to save the date for September 28-29, which will be the weekend of the first annual Timberhill Member Invitational. This will be the can't miss event of the year, featuring doubles play, skills challenges, sponsored lunches and Saturday player dinner, goodie bags, and a pro exhibition! This will be a really unique weekend, and promises to be a lot of fun. We'll start signing up teams in July/August, and teams can be composed of any two players, as long as one is a TTC member. 18 years & over only for this one.
Lastly, a couple of housekeeping items:
First, we are looking for donations of usable dishes--primarily sets of plates and bowls and silverware that we can use for certain events at the club instead of disposable stuff. If you have some dishes or silverware that you aren't using, email Hunter and let him know what you've got (please don't just drop stuff off at the club).
Second, a friendly reminder to please vacate the court promptly when the next group comes in. I've had a few complaints about groups having to warm up or start play while the prior group is still wrapping up a conversation around the benches. You're welcome to come and hang out in the lobby when you're finished playing, and that'll be more comfy, too. Thanks for your consideration in this matter.
See you all on the courts this summer!
