A Message from the Executive Director

Dear Friends,

It is hard to believe it has been a year since we relocated our offices to Walnut Hills. Relocating was the first step in my personal vision for the organization. Over the past year, our board and staff have continued to look at other opportunities to better communicate our mission and reach more people with disabilities in the community.

We identified the need for building an alliance between our consumers, our organization, and the community. Over the last year, our staff responded to over three hundred inquiries from consumers looking for services or resources in the community. We provided self-directed services to 395 consumers in Southwestern Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Our board welcomed three new volunteer board members to contribute to the organization's growth, sustainability, and impact within the community.

We expanded our outreach efforts to reach unserved and underserved populations, and we distributed a needs assessment to better understand people with disabilities’ quality of life and access to services. We embraced the diversity of people with disabilities and advocated for equality and inclusion for all.

We have accomplished so much over the past year, but there continues to be a growing need for services that assist people with disabilities to live independently in the community. We are excited about changes that are coming in the next few months that will enhance our mission to empower people with disabilities to lead independent and inclusive lives in the community.

I appreciate hearing your stories of success and encourage you to share how our services have assisted you to live independently.  Please feel free to contact me by phone at 513-338-5100, or by email.

I wish you and your family a safe and enjoyable summer.

Rob Festenstein

Executive Director
