From The Pastor..

Late night host Jimmy Fallon has a reoccurring bit where he will publicly write thank you cards on his show. While he usually writes his thank you cards for comedic effect, I do want to copy the idea of making my “thank you” cards public. As my appointment to North Judson UMC draws to a close, I want to publicly say thank you for the following things:

Thank you to everyone who volunteers. You may not be aware of it, but when it comes to how involved you all are in serving the community, North Judson UMC punches well above its weight class. While it is not a competition in any way, you do a lot more for the community than some churches that are bigger are able to do. This is only possible because there are so many dedicated volunteers. From working weekly in Kid’s Closet, helping with the monthly free meal, packing weekend food bags for students, or helping out with missions focused fundraisers like the fish fry or Henny Penny chicken dinner, many of you volunteer and that makes a difference.

June Mission of the Month-

Phoenix House Women's Shelter

In the month of June, your donations will be used to support the Women's Shelter. Phoenix House is located in Knox and serves the victim and victim's children as they make the transition back into the community and create self-sufficient lives for themselves. This is a mission at our back door that needs support.

FAREWELL CARRY-IN LUNCHEON FOR

Sunday, June 23rd

11:30 a.m. @ Fellowship Hall

Please join in saying goodbye to our pastor and family after the service on June 23rd. Fried chicken and drinks will be provided. There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex for those who would like to bring a side dish or dessert. Please indicate what you are bringing so we don't have many duplicates.

Also, we are collecting monetary donations for a gift that will be presented to the family at the carry-in. If you would like to donate, please use the pew envelope and mark "Farewell Gift". Thank you.

We will meet on Tuesday, June 11th, at 1:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Jane Ellen Felchuk will be presenting the program. All women are invited!!!
