Dear Center for Irish Music supporters,

The 16th Annual Minnesota Irish Music Weekend is finally here! We are thrilled to be bringing eight visiting artists and nine regional artists who will no doubt inspire us with their music and stories throughout the weekend.

Thanks to this year's sponsors and funders, including National Endowment for the Arts, the Minnesota State Arts Board, Emigrant Support Programme (Irish Department of Foreign Affairs), Culture Ireland, Larkin Hoffman Attorneys, Holiday Inn Downtown St. Paul, and the Celtic Junction Arts Center!

Don't forget to sign up for summer lessons & classes. Our Celtic Cuties Wednesday morning class is tomorrow June 5th, and it's not too late to register.

I look forward to seeing you this weekend.

Norah

CIM STORY-SHARING SESSIONS

"MANY PATHS TO HANDING DOWN A TRADITION"

The Center for Irish Music is embarking on a community story-sharing project in 2024. We welcome and encourage all of our community to join in conversation with each other, by sharing stories of how Irish music weaves its way into the fabric of our lives. Marking CIM's 20th anniversary, this project makes time for conversation, connection and reflection. By recognizing and uplifting our stories, identities, and backgrounds, together we can help our community grow and evolve.

We are excited to host three community story-sharing sessions in June. Learn more, and register for a story-sharing session here.

We hope you'll take a moment to read the first story in this series below, featuring community pillar Jo Ann Vano!

JO ANN VANO'S STORY

If you frequent the Center for Irish Music's events, chances are, you are well acquainted with Jo Ann's welcoming spirit. Always among the first to greet you, Jo Ann's presence and dedication to the traditional Irish music scene in Minnesota bring life to the vibrancy of our community.
