Buddy Takes His First Steps into Owens & Perkins!

Owens & Perkins welcomed an Australian Shepherd named Buddy to the firm! Buddy comes from Rescued Souls of the Rez and was adopted by our Family Law Attorney, Patricia Lenzner. Buddy is 2 years old and comes from New Mexico! He enjoys getting lots of scratches and attention from the staff, greeting visitors, eating pizza crust, and taking naps! On Court days, he wears a tie. Look sharp, be sharp!

The Phoenix Children's Project

Owens & Perkins Collected and Donated Items to The Phoenix Children's Project Community Center

What is the Phoenix Children's Project?

Phoenix Children’s Project is an organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of children living in poverty in Phoenix and surrounding areas. Their goal is to help these children become healthy, self-reliant adults. First, they help feed them, then they teach them how to break the chain and create better lives for themselves as adults. They assist families by providing food, guidance, and basic necessities, to help them in their goal of building a better future.

To help in the mission of Phoenix Children’s Project, Owens & Perkins collected food, diapers, laundry detergent, dishwashing soap, and hygiene items for donation. Our paralegal, Toni McClain, delivered the items to their community center. They were very grateful for the much-needed donations!

Has your Child Support or Spousal Maintenance Payment Been Delayed?

ATLAS Number Transitions To AZCARES Number

In May, the Department of Economic Security Division of Child Support Services transitioned from ATLAS to the AZCARES system for managing child and spousal support obligations. Maricopa County and the Clerk's Office rely on AZCARES to provide numerous support-related services to customers, including processing support payments and preparing payment histories and arrears calculations for use by litigants and the Court.

While the new system transition is ongoing, child and spousal support customers may experience delays in payment processing, requests for arrearage reports, and longer wait times on calls. The Clerk's Office and Maricopa County Superior Court remain actively engaged with DES to resolve system issues and restore efficient support-related services.
