Worship With Us

All are welcome to join us in the Ballroom at the Kentucky International Convention Center to worship each day of Convention. Anyone with a convention credential will have access. If you aren't registered to attend Convention and would like to participate in worship services, you can pre-register by completing this form. Upon arrival at the Convention Center, please show your confirmation email with a government issued photo ID to be admitted. Seating is limited and subject to availability on the day of the service, so please share with your friends and sign up!

The bulletins for each worship service, as well as a file containing all the bulletins, can be found on our website.

Join The General Convention’s All Y’All Choir

Come make a joyful noise as we lead our General Convention in singing God’s praises throughout the week - daily psalms, canticles, hymns and descants, and one beautiful anthem at the concluding Eucharist. You’ll be singing with passionate professionals, featuring Andy Barnett and the Theodicy Jazz Collective, with song leaders Lester MacKenzie, Sandra Montes, Conie Borchardt, and Dent Davidson.

The All Y’All Choir will meet in the worship space an hour before each liturgy:

  • Sunday, Wednesday and Friday at 7:30 in preparation for the 8:30 Eucharists
  • Monday and Tuesday at 8:00AM in preparation for the 9:AM Morning Offices
  • (Thursday’s Morning Office is prayed separately in each House without choir)

All are welcome – no audition necessary. All Y'All Choir is open to anybody: bishop, deputy, alternate, visitor, vendor, etc.

Visit the GC81 Media Hub

All livestreams during Convention will be shared at the Media Hub. You can watch live coverage from each house, the PB and PHOD forums, as well as special clips, photos, press releases, and other communications.

Elections and Nominees' Forums

A note on elections: All elections are now visible in the vBinder. The elections module has the most up to date information, as there have been some additions, corrections and withdrawals since the Blue Book was originally posted. Please note the Vice-President of the House of Deputies election will not be populated until the order of ministry is known and the final candidates are announced. All other elections are up to date.

Presiding Bishop Candidate Forum

The Joint Nominating Committee for the Election of a Presiding Bishop will be hosting a "Meet the Nominees" event at the Marriott Commonwealth Grand Ballroom (280 W Jefferson Street) on Friday, June 21st from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. This event will be livestreamed for those unable to make it in person.

President of the House of Deputies and Vice President of the House of Deputies Nominee Forum

In accordance with the rules of order, Secretary Barlowe will be hosting a Presidential Nominee Forum on Friday, June 21 at 2pm ET at the Marriott Commonwealth Grand Ballroom(280 W Jefferson Street). The forum will be for the official presidential nominees only, as there will be a separate forum for vice presidential candidates later (Thursday, June 27th from 7:00 - 8:30 AM in the House of Deputies). The forum will be livestreamed for anyone unable to attend in person.

There will be time in the program for candidate questions. If you would like to propose a question or a topic, please send your ideas to gcsecretary@episcopalchurch.org. Secretary Barlowe will compile the pool of potential questions from submitted recommendations.

President of the House of Deputies Election

We anticipate that the election of the President of the House of Deputies at the 81st General Convention will take place on Tuesday, June 25 (Day 3), during the regular business session of the House of Deputies. The election of the Vice President of the House of Deputies would then take place on Thursday, June 27 (Day 5), under the House of Deputies Rules of Order which provide a full legislative day after the election of the President to receive nominations for Vice-President.

These dates, along with the dates of all elections conducted by the House of Deputies, are not official until the House adopts its calendar in the first session of the General Convention. They will appear on the daily agenda for the House and not on the schedule on the General Convention website. The election calendar is proposed to the House by the Committee on Dispatch of Business, along with the calendar for special orders of business, presentations to the House, and any other business to be conducted for which a time may be set by the House.

Nominees for either position must have already cleared a required background check, and must submit their nomination to the Secretary of the House by the end of the legislative session on the day before the election for that office.

A Message from the Consultation

The Consultation, a collaboration of progressive groups in the Episcopal Church since 1985, invites any candidate for an office that Deputies will be voting on to fill out our questionnaire by no later than 5pm Louisville (Eastern) Time on Thursday, June 20. We will issue our endorsement list during the convention, ahead of the elections.

Submit Names for the Memorial Roll

It is the custom of the House of Deputies to pray for deputies to General Conventions who have died during the previous triennium or who have not been memorialized at a previous convention. If you have not done so already, please send the following information to gcsecretary@episcopalchurch.org

  • Deputy’s Name and Order of Ministry
  • Diocese
  • The General Convention(s) at which he/she served as deputy (an approximation is acceptable)

Names will also be accepted on-site in Louisville in the Secretariat until end of day Tuesday, June 25th. Thank you for your attention to this important part of our work together.
