Elizabeth Davis Honored with Award Named after Lizette Parker

Bergen County Commissioner Tracy Silna Zur and Assemblywoman Shama Haider were on hand at Teaneck's Memorial Day Ceremony to present Elizabeth with The Hon. Lizette Parker Memorial Award for Civic Achievement.

In her remarks at the ceremony, Elizabeth said she was flattered to receive an award named after Parker, who was Bergen County's first Black woman to serve as a mayor until her untimely death in 2016. Elizabeth spoke of the times she had reached out to Parker for advice, saying, "She was always very generous with her time and her knowledge and her passion for this community."
