A Message from Student Transitions & Family Programs

Dear parents and families,

Welcome to our second edition of Family Ties for the families of our Class of 2028! As a reminder, Student Transitions & Family Programs will serve as a resource for you during your student’s undergraduate experience. We host important programs to help families transition into the university and stay connected throughout the year. Regular communication with our parents and families is important to us. Below, you will see the June edition of Family Ties, the monthly e-newsletter written specifically for the parents and families of undergraduate students.

Keep an eye out this month for our Bear Essentials for Families and the companion piece, Parent & Family Habif Health & Well-being Guide, which are publications to share more information on the resources and services available to your student at WashU.

In addition to supporting the families of undergraduate students, we coordinate communications, programs, and resources to support new students. Frequently, we will communicate with your student directly and you will not be CCed as we work with you to transition your student to more independence during their collegiate journey. We have identified some important milestones for your student to tackle this summer later in this newsletter. Please be assured we have also shared these important to-do items directly with your student.

While the next few months will be full of excitement and anticipation, we understand this is also a time when many questions arise. We invite you to connect with us by email at families@wustl.edu, or by calling 314-935-5040 or toll free at 844-935-5040. Finally, the parents and families website is a wonderful source for your most up-to-date information.
