2024 Palm Bay Independence Day Celebration

Our Independence Day Celebration returns to the Eastern Florida State College Palm Bay Campus again this year!

Join us Friday, July 5th, from 5:00 to 9:00pm, with fireworks capping off the evening around 9:15pm. In addition to the fireworks, the event will feature food trucks, vendors, live music, and a kids’ zone with free inflatables, games, and face painting. The event is free to attend with free parking!

Visit www.pbfl.org/IndependenceDay for more details.

On May 8, 2024, the Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) for Brevard County reached 500. Because of this, Brevard County implemented a ban on open burning pursuant to County Code Section 50. This includes campfires, bonfires, trash-burning, and other similar open incineration. Prohibitions do not include state-permitted burns, use of barbeque grills, authorized public fireworks displays, and fireworks sales, which are authorized by state law. The Fire Chief has imposed a burn ban within the city as of May 9, 2024, until further notice.

Annual Brochure

City Hall Expansion Project

The City of Palm Bay is proud to announce the construction of its highly anticipated new Building E, a project that marks a significant milestone in the City's development.

With a total square footage of 39,142, this state-of-the-art facility will serve as a customer service center, housing Utilities Customer Service and the Building Department. Additionally, it will house the IT Department and will be hardened to function as the City's Emergency Operations Center, equipped with a generator capable of powering the entire building for 96 hours in the event of an emergency.

Starting Monday, April 29th, you will start to see an increase in activity related to the construction of Building E. Please see attached map that reflects some of the changes to parking and flow.

A few key items for your awareness:

  • The south (back) door of the City Hall Annex building will be re-opened for public access. Visitors still need to check in at the first floor front desk.
  • The access road between the front parking and the west and south parking areas will no longer be accessible. Therefore, if the front parking at City Hall Annex is full, visitors will need to go back out on Malabar and head to the west entrance into our parking lot.

This is an early phase of this project; more changes will be coming as construction moves forward. The project is anticipated to be completed in the Fall of 2025.
