June 2024 Newsletter

A Message from your Executive Director

The weather is warming up, flowers are in bloom, and FYIdaho is gearing up for a fun and exciting summer. With that being said, I would like to take the opportunity to share a little about who we are at FYIdaho, what we do to bring advocacy, education and help in navigating the mental health system of care for our families and youth throughout our wonderful state of Idaho.

25 years ago our organization got its start as Idaho Federation of Families when a group of family members identified the enormous need our state had in providing tools to others navigating our mental health system.

In 2021 we changed our name to FYIdaho – Families Youth of Idaho, and today we are a strong leader as a Statewide Family Network. We provide a free Family Support Line where families and caregivers of youth with mental health challenges can receive mental health resources, tools, and aid in navigating the continuum of care and provide advocacy for family and youth voice. Our youth program at the Boise Brick House provides a safe and fun space for youth to celebrate mental wellness and interact with others in sharing the empowerment of what makes us all unique and diverse. During the summer our kiddos can drop by Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1:00-3:00. FYIdaho is a host to a variety of fun clubs that encourage fun and engaging activities.
