Stuff the Bus
Every year, United Way JCGC holds our annual Stuff the Bus fundraiser. We collect school supplies and financial donations to help support the students in USD 475, St. Xavier, and USD 473. This event takes a lot of volunteers to make it the huge success that it is. If you would like to help us STUFF THE BUS, sign up HERE to volunteer.
CASA of the 8th Judicial is one of the non-profits that will be supported in the Cookout For Kids hosted by the First Baptist Church in Council Grove located at 501 Country Lane, Council Grove KS.
JC Pacesetters appreciates everyone who came out on the 27th and enjoyed a great breakfast fundraiser held by the American Legion Post #45.

UWJCGC - Board President
Well, it’s great to be back in Junction City full-time. Steve, Nichole, and the remainder of the board have done an amazing job keeping United Way functioning and conducting business. The office of the United Way has had some issues, requiring our staff to be away from the office and difficult to conduct operations while out of the office. We have an awful lot of catching up to do, some due to my time away and facilities turmoil in our office and a host of other things; with that said we are all back and ready to get the United Way and our Community “Priority One”. Please accept our lateness, we will soon be having our volunteer dinner, to recognize the wonderful volunteers that help us with our mission of support to and through our community and abroad. This coming fall we will be having a Tax Class that may interest the community, for more information contact our Director, Nichole at the United Way. We want to do great things in our Community, Help Us, as We Help Others!!!
Greetings United Way JCGC community. June is here, and we are ready to kick off our summer. As our Board President said, our office has been a little out of sorts lately. We are so grateful for our relationship with Geary County, and them allowing us to have an office in one of their buildings. Please give us grace as we try to function as best as possible until our office is fixed. The plumbing issues have required us to not be in the office as much as we would like to be.
Even with the building issues, we are still working and doing our best to support our community. Our Dolly Parton Imagination Library continues to grow. Currently, we have 800 children receiving books, with another 115 on the waiting list. We would like to thank Astra Bank for their support of our Dolly Parton Imagination Library. They took a stand for Early Literacy and donated $3,000 to our program! If you would like to support Early Literacy, check out our DPIL website, and find out how you can get involved.
Look for us at the 4th of July celebration and at an upcoming marker with JC MainStreet.
