Play Along With Sean
Orchestra leader and master arranger Sean O'Connor brings us a new tune this month: Romance! This song is traditionally taught to guitarists as a solo piece, but Sean has put his own spin on it by turning it into a duet.

Once again, the video starts off with the complete duet, followed by each individual part for those who want to practice the parts separately (or just need a virtual duet partner).

Click the video above to hear the piece, and click the button below to download the sheet music to play along. Enjoy!
Spring Virtual Concert
Sunday, June 20, 2021
Any time after midnight Pacific Time

The Davis and Sacramento Community Guitar Orchestras once again have come together virtually to bring you another virtual concert extravaganza! This season's concert will feature contemporary songs composed by our own talented orchestra leaders, Matthew Grasso and Sean O'Connor.

The Virtual Guitar Orchestra will be followed with performances by the Davis Guitar Orchestra and Duo7. The Davis Guitar Orchestra will be performing a set from their "Pandemic Music" series, and father-son team Duo7 will be presenting the special sounds only seven-string guitars can make.

The concert will be available any time after midnight Pacific Time on Sunday, June 20, 2021. The concert is free to all and available any time after the date of publication, but a donation of $10 per viewer is appreciated. We hope you enjoy the show!
Daniel & Sean At ACC
Sean O'Connor and former SGS president Daniel Roest performed in a concert for Asian Community Center in May. Click the video above to enjoy the performance.

Guitars4Vets
The Sacramento Guitar Society has partnered with another nonprofit organization, Guitars4Vets, to help our Veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD) achieve healing thru the power of music.

Thanks to a grant from the California Art Council, we are able to extend the private guitar lessons they receive from Guitars4Vets by an additional 10 weeks. But these grants require matching donations from our community. Read more here and donate for this GREAT cause.
