Hello AMPPE Members!
I am pleased to announce and welcome Eva Adamkova as the newest member of the AMPPE team! Pam Traut recently made the move from her role with AMPPE to seek out new adventures in the valley. I sincerely thank Pam for her 2 years with AMPPE and the significant and lasting contributions she made to the organization! Eva brings a strong skill set with her to the role as well as a passion for the tourism industry and mountain park environment. Originally from the Czech Republic, Eva speaks three languages and is currently working on a Masters Degree in Tourism. Eva started as Administrative Coordinator on June 1st so please drop by the office to say hello if you are in the neighbourhood!
Please note our summer office hours - but please :
A recent court ruling against Green Peace confirmed that organization was exaggerating claims and falsifying evidence to substantiate their position on environmental issues. These unethical methods reinforce the need for balanced, truthful, and science based decision making impacting the future of our wild spaces. The mountain parks of Alberta and BC are a unique place in the country with municipalities and tourism based economies existing within protected areas. It is therefore an added challenge to advocate for the responsible use of these places that Canadians truly love. Specific to our region, we need to work diligently to find that balance between conservation and the tourism industry that sustains the livelihood of those of us who live within the mountain parks. AMPPE believes that this balance is key to ensuring both memorable visitor experiences while fostering our valuable ecosystems for future generations.
