Seeking volunteers for Camp Sunshine

On Saturday, August 5; Camp Loughridge

Sponsored by the Deacons, this is a day camp for children who are fighting cancer. The kids and their families enjoy crafts, boating, fishing, the giant swing and swimming. Volunteers are needed to help make this event a success and must be at least 14 years old. Click here to sign up.

AGO Southwest Conference Recital

Friday, June 30, 7:30 p.m.; Sanctuary

You are invited to a very special recital. The Tulsa Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) is hosting a five-day regional convention which is expected to draw nearly 200 attendees from all over the USA. First Church was chosen as the venue for the closing concert which will feature organists Ken Cowan (Rice University in Houston) and Bradley Hunter Welch (Dallas Symphony Organist), two brilliant performers with international credentials. The concert program includes Dmitri Shostakovich's Festive Overture, Op. 96; Frederick Swann's Trumpet Tune; Edward Elgar's Nimrod from Enigma Variations; and more. The concert is free. Worship 101 Summer Ring & Sing

Rehearsals are Sundays in July, 9:30 a.m.; K - 2 West Parlor & 3 - 4 Bell Room

Performance is Sunday, July 30, in the Sanctuary

Kids in grades K-4 will learn to ring a hymn tune on hand bells and chimes, and will present it to the congregation in the Sanctuary on the last Sunday in July. For questions, contact Gretchen Bashforth at 918-301-1012.

Spiritual Retreat

“God in creation”

Saturday, July 15, 9:00 a.m.; Camp Loughridge 

You are invited to a retreat for all ages. Adults and families will have two separate paths of retreat through the morning and gather for lunch. Families with children will engage in a guided prayer walk and then have prayer, learning and worship time shepherded by Pastor Julia in the Lodge. Adults without children will enjoy time in the Lodge immersing themselves in a selection of spiritual disciplines before stepping into solitude and silence on a self-guided prayer walk. Includes lunch. Register in advance online, $10 adults, children under 12 free. For more information, please contact Laura Stevens at the church.

Please join us as members share their stories of how Jesus Christ has faithfully been at work in and through their lives. Faith & Film – an all-church summer Sunday School class

Sundays, July 2 – Sept. 3, 9:30 a.m.; Miller Library 

Explore how faith intersects culture on the silver screen. In July we will examine secular movies and search out Christian themes that emerge. In August, we will dive into Season 1 of “The Chosen” and review how scripture is messaged and depicted through this series. Pastors and lay teachers will lead our conversations.
