BORDERLANDS PRODUCE RESCUE
|
Dayspring partners with Borderlands to bring unsold fresh produce from regional farms directly to our neighborhoods. Volunteers are needed to pack food boxes of approximately 70lbs that we sell for $15. This is a great chance to spend time in the Arcadia neighborhood, interact with neighbors, reduce food waste and bring healthy food to local families. Our final event until fall is Saturday, June 18 from 5:00-9:00am. If you’re interested in volunteering, email Amy.

We host Family Promise the week of June 26 - July 2. This close to the holiday can be a challenging time to find volunteers, but you are asked to prayerfully consider how you can support this ministry by signing up as an overnight host. We need two hosts each night. You are also invited to provide encouragement by leading fun evening activities and/or helping to provide dinner through the week. Please email Howard or Maria with questions or sign up HERE.

THE LONG JOURNEY:
Scholarship Funding for DACA/Undocumented Students
|
The Sessions Committee of the Desert Southwest Conference which is the planning body for Annual Conference agreed at the end of last year that our mission project would be DACA/Undocumented scholarship funding. Dollars collected will be used to help students pay for the college education & related expenses through The United Methodist Foundation as funded by the Annual Conference mission offerings.
In 2017 National Justice for Our Neighbors produced a video, sharing words from DACA students about what it means to be able to go to school in the United States. What it means for their futures as these wonderful young people participate in our nation. Funding for education is hard to come by, and we hope that you will give to The Long Journey Scholarship Fund HERE.
